Any PC Engine techies here?

I've had a PC Engine DUO repaired and recapped (last year), which seemed to be working fine on the few occasions that I've played it since.

Today, I opened it up to do something, and noticed C311 is missing. Old photos of the PCB I took before the work was done on it, show that a cap was fitted, originally.

Anyone know if this is a mistake or removed deliberately (can't think why)?

I know this is an old post, but did you ask the person who did the work?
If it works ok, it probably doesn't matter that it's missing. Could just be a smoothing capacitor?

I'd forgotten about this, TBH. I had the original repair done by Retro Six (yeah, I know. This was before I heard bad things about them). I just checked, and I did ask on their discord about it, but got no reply.

I *think* I fitted a replacement cap myself, but it was a while ago and my memory for these things is piss poor. Lol

Ok, I just checked on a FB group I'm in, and I asked there, too. It's apparently common to remove this cap to get better access to an IC next to it. The cap is part of the power regulator circuit, apparently. Now I'm pretty certain I fitted a replacement.

What is wrong with Retro six? I was going to send them some stuff to repair.
