But, it seems it was just my time, so i always browse the local ads for stuff, be it gaming, fish tanks etc etc, basically stuff i am interested in, and i came across an advert a few days ago now with an old arcade machine, dusty as hell and the seller couldnt confirm if it worked, £300 the ad said, so i had a little back and forth and he agreed to deliver for £60 as well, i thought £360 isnt too bad for what looks like a solid shell of a machine, i can troubleshoot it when it gets hear, been lifted out of an old pub storage, asked the usual, water damage etc etc, was told...nope, just full of dust as the guy was just someone who empties buildings.

So come today, and i figured worst case scenario, i have a pretty beat up machine that doesnt work, but i have a solid foundation for some sort of cab, it was a risk, but i figured it was worth it, worst that could happen was i would need to put a new monitor in and my mister or something

Then i asked him to confirm what he was delivering.....and here is the kicker

3 old arcade pub machines for £360 delivered and they are in pretty much mint condition, i need to replace little bits and bobs and havent turned them on yet, but oooofff, if anyone knows anything about these machines then i would be happy ot hear it, the winfalls look like they could be rotated and i'll need to replace the stick and buttons but i have a ton of spare sawna stuff already

overall a very very good day, gone from one cabinet to 4

Looks like a nice result ! Hopefully they are all working and running something nice inside .
that is the holy grail isnt it, the fact i have 3 cabs for £300 is just amazing, they have no water damage at all and were just dusty, guy said he has had them in storage for ages, got an interesting few weeks coming up seeing if they work or not, i think even if they have games i dont want, ill just move them on and grab some i do

Ahhhhhh ! Two of my sweet little babies still alive at just over 30 years of age

DOB sometime between 1987 and 1993 after that only 4 or 6 button control panels were fitted ( they unplug from loom & slide off sideways if you want ever to change them )

The monitors do turn 90* lift out and turn glass either way and lift out monitor frame usually secured with a thumb bolt one corner but watch monitor wires .. best unplug while turning as don’t always stretch far enough to leave attached…

Winfall never made cabs …. Marquees made to customer identity at manufacture.

Majority of the original CRTs were Wells Gardner but due to suppliers they also got hantarex 9000 fitted too
Give them a good 20 + minute blast round the lopt and anode cap with a hair drier, get all the damp dispelled before powering them up .

Result. I'd be in those double-quick to see what boards are inside, if any.
it was an effort today just getting them to where they are now, 3 big steps after a 60 metre move and then i give them a little wipe down

from the info i have been sent, they may just be some random boards that may be of use to someone, but wont be for me

Looks like the Leisure 2000 is MVS. 4 buttons per player and button on front for game select. Could be some nice carts inside!
jamma cabs like that ,when you could still find them .
They held such excitement when you didn’t know what was in them
The mvs stuff didn’t really excite me,but a board with Konami .capcom .taito sega etc ,was a different level
I hope there’s some nice ones in these

Best part of buying a cheap cab. Like a lucky dip. Lol. I once bought a cheap JAMMA cab from a pub that had a rare UPL game in it. Ninja Kid, think it was.

It’s a balancing act ,you sell the pcb
As you know your about to throw a load of money at the cab 🤣 Then you want the pcb again and throw double at it .maybe that’s just me 🤣

Tony Smith dissolved Winfall Leisure Ltd at the end of 1999 … he operated hundreds of videos like these , in chippies pubs clubs barber shops and film hire libraries nationwide.

He sold on the majority as small business opportunities of groups of 3 -15 machines sited in your own town at a price anywhere from £15,000 to around £50,000 ready for some poor unemployed wannabe to ‘get rich quick’ emptying cash boxes but no service back up… a spares kit of a few bulbs, a couple of buttons and a spare euro lead or two … a real ‘cowboy’ he restructured his company as ‘national 121 vending’ concentrating more on £1 vend condom / disposable knickers/ peanut carton /10cm gift ball vending machines in pubs and nightclubs again to sell on to unsuspecting buyers who were often out of there depth…. Needless to say many of these casual ready to earn big cash income businesses dried up after a few months when newer games appeared in a nearby location or games broke down?
Often the buyers of these rounds had no vehicles to move them around or out of pubs they sort of squatted in by arrangement with greedy managers but their parent brewery probably had other suppliers for pool jukes and fruits so got videos evicted? … or pubs changed mangers or tenants who preferred dining tables to game zones …

Little wonder odd batches like this show up now and then or get skipped? This looks like a not much used set …. I reckon one will be very likely to have a ‘winners don’t use drugs’ World Cup 90 in it if it’s never been touched inside?

seen many such small victims of Winfall end up with machines in their garden unable to find sites … lost investment tho some with initiative made it and did well if they got a good area with income potential and found more good operating sites to build up the round….

One guy near me bought Winfall 2 generic woody vids (not those grey 20” pedastal type) a pool table and a cigarette vender in the Wings club in my local town and it shut down about 12 weeks later but he owned a small pet shop also and he tried the videos in there ….. ended up gutting them to makes bulk rabbit food and dog biscuit hoppers with scoops in! He had no idea … couldn’t even change a lock, pooltable was in his mums garden for ages (he wasn’t much of a Sunday league football referee either) sad as he lost almost £6,000 on machines worth about£1200 and he didn’t smoke after the cig machine was ejected over half full of cigs.

They look so ‘mint’ the only down side I predict if they eventually power up and I might find you the possible 284013 keys to the front round locks? If they never got changed?
The Mars mechs will probably only accept 20p coins but there will be the option of the free credit button on the Mars credit pcb?

The round pound now dual metal >2017
The small 10p now steel magnetic>2012
Big 50p went smaller to follow 10ps>1997

I have lots new euro leads here too if they are missing? You are only about 20 miles away or so?

For info only the Mars mech on the leisure 2000 cab will have bottom return side panel reject coin route so can’t be directly swapped on to the pedastal cabs unless the side panel is swapped - just one small screw!
