I've been putting together a collection of videos of my various machines. I'll probably have to sell some of them this year, so it'll be nice to have something to remember them by

(just down-sizing and time/money, nothing major).

I've picked up some nice machines over the years - the Isle of Wight had good arcades and as they closed down I was able to nab a few beauties. I've also got some from members here, on J+, and one or two from COW and Europe. There are one or two enthusiasts/collectors locally, and it's been great to have some Vaccers visit when they've been on holiday over here!

I've got some classic Sega cabs: Outrun Deluxe, Power Drift, Enduro Racer Deluxe, Daytona USA, Sega Rally, and an Astro City. The odd Taito machine: Super Chase and my personal favourite Chase H.Q. Some cool Konami cabs: X-Men 4 player and Driving Party/GTi Club 2. And some Atari machines: Star Wars (partly repro build) and Hard Drivin'. I've also got into pinball recently!

I've put the videos on to my YouTube channel:

And here are some direct links to some of my personal favourites.

Enjoy!

Nice collection of cabs.

Many happy memories of arcades in IoW back in the day. Arcadia was amazing as late as 2009 which was the last time I went there. I don't think it was long after that it faded away.

I can't remember, did you get the OutRun dlx and Enduro Racer from there, or was it that rotten mandccars guy? Old timers will remember him.

The Hang On dlx was still running back in 2009 too - was that the one you were offered for 200 quid?

I did take some footage, but this was 2009 and I only had a ropey old camera then - I had to capture the scene though as it felt like the end of an era was closing in fast.

The video is here if you can bear the poor quality

Nice selection of cabs never seen that Konami racer before it looks really fun. If you ever decide to move that Daytona on let me know I'll take it in a heartbeat :)

Sorry - totally missed your post - 2 years late! Yes, I did get the Outrun DLX from Arcadia, along with Enduro Racer DLX. Should have got the Hang On DLX as well, but by the time I'd got space it had gone to someone else.

Great video - I nabbed the Hard Drivin, X-Men 4 player, and Daytona twin as well eventually.

I've finally managed to convert my Champ Sprint to Paperboy, having recently received a repro controller (which I initially ordered over two years ago - long story!). I only played it a handful of times in the arcades but always thought it was a cool game.

The PCB is broken so I've got a little MAME PC outputting the right resolution to the medium res monitor. It's nice to be able to use the various cheats in MAME to get some good practice and take the edges off this unforgiving game! Also being able to play the SNES and MD sequels in the cab is nice for a change.

I wasn't sure how I would feel about the monitor bezel but I reckon it looks cool.

Here's my most recent addition: a beautiful Capcom Mini Cute, courtesy of @Monstermug. I don't have many real flyers, so I added a second screen to act as an active marquee. When I load up a game (on a GroovyMAME PC), the flyer, marquee, and screenshot are all displayed on the secondary monitor. I ended up using MAMEHooker to achieve this as anything else caused problems or didn't work.

Let me know if you want more detailed instructions on how to do this as it was a real pain getting it to work without messing GroovyMAME's timings & resolutions up!

Beautiful cab, amazing idea. What display is it?
Thanks - it's a 14" 2160*1440 LCD from AliExpress. It was about £35 when I bought it.

I want to make a better bezel for it but just using a white piece of card for now. Someone with good Photoshop skills could come up with something really nice that's Capcom themed!

Some flashing leds behind the speaker grill to flash to the music would go well with this. Imagine, switch it on. night rider red scans left to right until menu screen comes on. load a game insert credit flashing to the beat. Pimp my Cab.

Very nice mate ,
I wonder could you also alternate imagery on a preset timer Só for exsample
Toggle through all flyers for a game ? 5 mins per image
Yeah, that would be really nice. I don't think that's possible with MAMEHooker, as it will just load up the images when the game starts and close them when it ends. People use a raspberry pi or the like to do more complicated stuff with art on vpins so I'm sure there's a way.

I've got some cool LEDs on my vPin that do that and other effects, and I think you can get MAME to control LEDs as well. Some nice lighting on the marquee would be cool.

You can get various LED gadgets that can be set to react to sound. Maybe not exactly what you're after, but an easy solution. Here's an old video of mine showing an LED face mask reacting to a Vectrex demo...

Very nice - hadn't considered that. Think I remember people doing that with their real pins.
