Here's a video of my Outrun DLX. Sadly the audio is partially broken on the PCB - you get the beats and sound effects, but no melodies! I'll get it repaired but don't have the cash right now.

(You can thank my YouTube crazed 11 year old for the intro and outro. He tells me my speaking voice is far too dull, so I'm keeping quiet on this one!)

I'm actually quite liking the Outrun music (in the club style) Although it sounds a bit like the opening beat to the Only Fools and Horses theme tune too. Just got my Outrun Mini this week. It is probably all I will ever have the money or space for, but the dream is always a proper sit down cab.

And yeah, got skills with the machine placement.

Thanks - I'll do a tour of the whole unit - got about 25 perfectly placed cabs in there!

I like the 'beats-only' music as well - seems to make the game feel more intense. But I'll get it fixed at some point.

Funny that, I picked up an outrun last year and I had the tunes but no sound effects or beats. I haven’t had the time to look at it, it’s a sound channel issue isn’t it? Or maybe just a bad speaker.

My understanding is that the samples part is the bit that usually dies first. Mine plays all the samples a bit wrong. The main melodies come out of a standard yamaha chip/dac combo.
