After owning my Cinematonics Dragon's Lair nearly 10 years (has it really been that long?, yep) It was time to get it up and running. My Space Ace was running fine until I killed the monitor while testing parts. Damn G07's!!
Still running fine now with Lasermax's and Hi-Tech cards.

The last Laser to fix is my Space Ace Dedicated which plays blind, I've just the TV card to hook up and it's done! Having these 2 and Dragon's Lair 2 in attract mode all running at the same time really takes me back!

I love these games. Any shots of the innards of one of these? I've always wondered what they looked like on the inside

Thanks guys!

The top one is of the Space Ace Dedicated, this was the only one in the country at one point when Arch imported it. I think there's 3 now?
The player goes in the drawer underneath...

The next is my DL as I had it... Jamma'd by an operator? Jebus the mess! Dead Electrohome and Switching PS...

The last one is the cab now (last week) with the monitor out and due to the fact I couldn't get one I put a switcher in there in place of the linear PS. Also no joystick or audio controls in this pic either. The board with conversion card on the right allowing you to use a later (more reliable) player. Player goes again at the very bottom...

Very cool Rich....I really like these cabs and miss my DL

Like you said, having these running in attract mode, there isn't much that compares when it comes to creating an atmosphere in a games room.

Good work!

They are things of beauty. They look great!

Don't worry Al, DL is still being lovingly cared for

Thanks guys! Yeah combined with my audio CD's of Arcade Ambience 1982 & 83 running on the Hi-Fi!

I missed my 1st DL, which was an Atari and have been without a running cab for some years...

Great looking Cinematronics Dragons Lair and Space Ace cabs
smiley27.gif

These are the cabs I like the most out of them and the Atari cabs...The Cinematronics are the very first SA and DL cabs I ever saw back in the Starlight Rooms amusements in Leeds in the early 80's and I have very fond memories of both of them, spending countless 30p's (yes the Starlight had them at 30p a go which was a high price for a video game back then compared with majority of other games at 10p a go)

Here in B'ham and its outskirts we had 4 Dragon's Lair's. 3 were Atari's but the one in an Ice Cream Parlour/Arcade was a Cinematronics. I think I counted 8-9 up at Blackpool on the Pleasure Beach and Golden Mile the year they were released!

I also heard there was a Firefox cockpit in Wolverhampton! Never saw it myself but I've got it on pretty good authority!
