Gone off The Pinball Arcade quite a bit for several reasons, namely their lack of urgency fixing bugs that their updates introduce that have been know to break tables (Funhouse in iOS I'm looking at you).
I find it leaves a rather sour taste in the mouth that a established business uses Kickstarter to raise funds to develop a particular table, then sells said table at a premium. Their excuse is that the licence costs more, maybe so; but if they have confidence in the fact that the table will sell, then what's the issue?
Feels like they're taking the urine somewhat, essentially holding the fans to ransom, saying 'we'll develop this DLC, as long as you shoulder all the financial risk; heaven forbid we reinvest some profit.
Unfortunately, looking on their forums and FB page, they have an army of dedicated fans who will fund this and maybe not see they're being shafted..
The simple answer for folk like me of course is to not back the Kickstarter and just buy the table If I want it, if it comes out.
Not sure what point I'm making - just rambling, however, yeah takes the piss somewhat, a successful company going to customers, cap in hand, to ask them to take the financial risk of making new product.
