Hi guys.

It would appear that the gaming bug has firmly taken hold and no longer content with reliving the arcade classics am now feel somewhat compelled to revisit some of my fondest console memories and maybe explore some that I missed out on along the way.

For now, I think the main ones will be SNES, Megadrive, and Atari ST. But possibly unlikely to stop there...............

So, I guess my foremost question would be as to the thoughts/experiences/pro/cons in relation to what possible options there are to playing these "original" games.

Hardware - reliability, fixability, availability of actual hardware. Other options (Rretron5) - thoughts.
As much as I am kinda getting into mame, I don't really want to use this for these games.

Ideally I would like to get the original consoles and original games, and just wondered what everyone's views and experiences are to the feasability of this.

Thanks guys.

Neil.

SNES, Megadrive consoles are pretty bullet proof, both can be easily 50/60khz and region modded, then its whether you want to go all retro and buy a decent 4:3 CRT TV or use something like an SLG and plug them into a LCD

I picked up one of these, the other week.

Got some original games and it looks good to me on my 22" LCD TV

You do have the option of using real control pads with it as well, I'm still looking for some pads and games.
