After 10 months it is here! Nintendo Red Tent!

Finally after 10 months, the Nintendo Red Tent I have been waiting for from the US has arrived!

It was absolutely filthy so I gave it a quick wipe over.
Cosmetically I would say the cabinet is probably a 7/10. I think the
problem areas are fixable, and not anything major. I'd like to make the cabinet mint if possible because it is a very unique game and not many exist in the UK.

I powered up the cabinet and it all works as expected with Vs Golf on
the lst screen and Vs Hogans Alley on the 2nd screen. You’ll notice
that a gun is strapped to one side of the control panel. This is for
games like Duck Hunt and Hogans Alley etc.

The only negative is that there doesn’t seem to be any keys with the
cabinet, so I am trying to find out whether they can be located. I
don’t really want to drill the locks as there are about 6 altogether.

I am going to set the cabinet up with Vs Balloon fight and Super
Mario over the next few days so I can give the cabinet a good play.

But it will be easier to get monitor parts shipped from the US than the cab itself

The games need a PPU, which is a security type chip. Different games have different PPUs

So burning the roms is the easy bit. Finding and getting the PPU's is the difficult bit.

Luckily I've had 10 months to get PPU's so can play most of the games now.

They are interchangable on the same pcb

Love the control panel with the usual Nintendo buttons and stick

Needs a bit of work, but I'm glad it is finally here. It's much bigger than expected, but I've had a move around in my garage and it has been accommodated now. This is my last cab purchase for a while. I need to now focus on getting all my games working to a good standard, and tidied up.

First thing I did with the Red Tent was give it a good clean, and I took the PCB out last night as I noticed that it had some battery leakage. Looks like these batteries have been there from day one in the cab

Luckily they have been mounted on the board on a remote battery holder, so no damage to the PCB

I will just desolder the crusty battery holder and stick a new one on
