So, being a natural pessimist, i hear lots of great things about these things but i cook a lot, and i can actually cook stuff, so to hear people rave on about these things like they are the second coming makes me ever so slightly cautious about buying one

I don't eat chips and rarely cook ready meal style combos of food(you can throw a whole roast dinner in all together and it takes 20 minutes to cook)

So, do you have one, is it any good, but can you actually cook as well, i guess i am a bit of a cook snob and think everyone who thinks these are great are used to microwave meals and take aways

I feel like i have made this thread before either here or in a past life

I do own one.

I would say I am a competent cook, but having an air fryer has been very welcome on the occasions that I am limited on time or I just cant be bothered.

They cook most things to an edible standard, though obviously not as well as If you were to cook it as was intended. For example chicken comes out well, though you will never get it as spot on as you can if you lovingly nurture it in the oven.

Overall its a decent addition to the kitchen as long as you aren't relying on it 7 nights a week.

Yeh they are gteat I have had serveral , Great for speed and when you cant be bothered to turn the ovan on and wait until it warms up. Small so no where near as expensive to run as a cooker. Cooks well. There are cheap and expensive I have had both but gone back to cheap !!

Again its not stopping you from cooking normal , Just there when you need it. Good for roast potatoes as well !

Dave.

I was sceptical too, but after having one for a year honestly wouldn't be without. Make sure you get a dual basket one as the ability to cook different things at different temperatures at the same time is bloody handy.

Until it broke, our Tefal Actifry did surprisingly good chips without buckets of searing oil. The static fryer we have now is ok for lazy stuff like sausages, but I’d be going for the skillet or griddle pan for a nice steak, piece of fried chicken or a home made burger.
Plus a lot of our stuff is slow cooked or sauce based.
So it has its uses, but not essential in our house.
I think I can make a few nice things, but I’m not going to claim I’m a great cook as my repertoire is pathetic 🤪

I cook from scratch and the only oven I have is a NijaFoodi 9in1.
Family of three 🤘

Love the one-pot pasta with the pressure lid, never used the yoghurt-making function.

I made pizza from scratch, that's including base, on saute setting, best pizza evar!!!

We have 3 - the largest Ninja single and double basket ones and also a cheapo 'large glass bowl' jobby that I use all the time. We do most of our cooking in them, although to be fair it is pretty basic meals, but love them, saves a fortune in utility costs.

We've got one. We've also got three kids, two of who have special needs and are fussy eaters. It's a bit of a god send as we're normally cooking three different meals. I imagine if they weren't the way they are we probably wouldn't have one.

We've got a dual Ninja one. It's great. Use it most days. It's basically a little electric oven. Must be much more economical than using a full size oven.
