Anti-static Storage Boxes - Help!

[ukvac] Anti-static Storage Boxes - Help!
Hi all,

It's about time I protected my PCB's and stopped storing them all together in large boxes.
Has anyone found a source for individual PCB size boxes, preferably with some kind of anti-static padding.

Any help most appreciated!

Regards,

Steve.

Re: [ukvac] Anti-static Storage Boxes - Help!
Steve,

I was really lucky. My storage place is next to a BT Telephone exchange
and one day a skip inside was full of A/S PCB boxes. A polite enquiry
resulted in a nice pile of video game boxes :)

Regards,

Paul.

Re: [ukvac] Anti-static Storage Boxes - Help!
Yellow Pages!

In the hampshire area ( they're in Havant ) I use A&A packaging,
they did do COD but now either require an account or cheque in
advance. Any 'good' packaging company should be able to give
you a huge range of box sizes, padded boxes are generally expensive
so ask for ex-line stuff, most often they'll have something cheapish,
I use 50p boxes and they fit within half an inch of Royal Mail postage
size ( worth checking out before hand ). I use anti-static bubble wrap
bags ( albeit slightly too small for most my PCBs ) and 250 guage
plastic bags ( VERY strong ), I've also got 500guage so I could see
what the difference is and they're MEGA tough.

So ask for a large box of anti static bubble wrap bags, large box
of 250 guage plastic bags and measure your largest PCB and
medium sized PCBs and get boxes to suit. You'll find you wont need
much padding after the bubble wrap and plastic bag but get a big
bag of loose fill too if you plan on shipping stuff. For storage though
don't use loose fill as it gets everywhere :]

So yeah, look under packaging for a good company, best with COD
and give them a try, these guys do next day, can't see any reason
why any other company can't. It's also very cheap btw. usually 30
quid will get you everything you need for a long long time.

Hope this helps

Joe
