Long shot but I used to have my own bar with darts board, Fruit machines, Jukebox and Arcade machines but after I moved I got rid over everything. I have got a few machines but I want to get back into my darts as just got back into watching it also !! Its easy enough to buy a darts board set , darts ect (Although I cant remember what gram darts I used to use ! There is some with the set I am buying so can go from there and get something better once get into it again).

On my Journey I have discover the world of Auto score boards !! And am a little confused to as what one to go for !!

The 2 I am looking at is Target Omni and the Scolia home 2. I have read and the scolia 2 FLEX you have to subscribe to and the none flex you dont have too.

After hours of looking and reading and I pointing towards the Omni as this is the better priced one and the scolia seems to be for the more professional player , and I aint that ! lol

Does anyone have any experience in this and can offer any advice ??

Thanks in Advance ,

Dave.

i used to play darts as a kid and the recent Littler bump had me looking at possibly buying a setup, but i fear it would just be a fad and im pretty poor on my feet these days so decided against it, i think if i ever get a(nother) dedicated room i would go for one just because of how great they look

love the auto scoring things though, and the fact you can play online against people is fantastic

Yeh I am prety much same as you , Only issue is I dont have many people to play against !!! My daughter will have a go but the wife wont so I was more worrying about getting board of playing. Hence another reason for the auto scorer and you can play loads of people online at the same ability as you, Hence me and you could add each other as friends and play each other at a time to suit us !! Be great to have people on there you already know as such.

I love my darts .playing .watchng ,,competing at one stage at very low level
My advice .get the board up ,and start throwing .Then take it from there
I’ve a simple ton machine from back in the day
As you know ,the beauty of darts is .
You can tell how good your playing by how many darts it takes you to finish 501
At that point then decide on what you spend ..
them guys on tv make it look so simple

Granboard 3s soft tip board is amazing., lit up numbers for cricket etc. App based, party games. can link to philips hue lights, so your room lights up with the action.

Now if you want to stay with steel tips, granboard are just releasing gran eye.
2 cameras and it shows close up of where you hit,
Online community is great, you'll never practice alone anymore, just play with people all over the world.

then can make cabinets

Just to note - you can play online with people of same level, any level.
Soft tip is really good, safe, and has its advantages. You only really need steel tip, if your competing down local pub etc with steel tip, you need to practice with same equipment id say.

Total setup with hue lights build , 3s board, pi, touch screen (this is only needed instead of ipad) cabinet build, can all come in at about £500

I have had a medlist in my setup for a couple of years, it gets played 1000% more than any other machine (recently got granboard for home)

Been looking at these as going for the Omni , It suits my needs. The scolia is expansive unless you want to pay silly money for subscriptions (When you buy the flex you have to pay subscriptions).

I have downloaded the App (DartCounter) and had a go without the Omni scorer and seems realy good. There subscription (Not needed for offline games & training ect , And you get 3 game a week online for free) is $34.99 a year for unlimited access. Also people can cheat there arse off with the scolia but not with omni. Only bad thing is you need a camera for Omni so people can see the board , Now you can buy there one at £249 (Called the 'Virt' 2 HD cameras one for board and other for oche) or use a normal webcam / phone.

If anyone know of where to get an Omni cheaper that the normal £500 then give me a shout !! I had a few looks on ebay but not a great deal cheaper. There is one for £465 but I reckon if i wait I may get a better price.

You need any info let me know as I have researched these a fair bit now , Maybe the above will hep others out as it gets well confusing !

will do, i dont even know how online darts works, do we all need the same setup/software, i have read there is a subscription for it for one of them, i dont think its something i will commit to until my kids move out(which hopefully will be really soon, but i am not holding my breath).

4 bed house that is jammed full because of the 3 adults/kids....move out will you...adults now...fuck off

You can play free with not even auto scorer on DartCounter ( 3 games a week ). You just have to enter your own score in , Problem I have seen is you could put any score you want in and cheat. The auto scorer stop that but you can still request changes. The best way is the camera and auto scorer. I dont think $34.99 a year is bad at all and that gives you unlimited games online and stats.

If you register (Its free) https://dartcounter.net You can watch other peoples games !! And others can see yours. It will give you an idea on whats what.

I have 4 bed home and just me , the wife and the daughter so 2 rooms free. I have got one for repairing PCB and flight sim stuff so you can imagine the argument when I put a dartboard in her cats room ! lol (She has a bedroom for the cats , yeh i know !)

She was not amused at all !!

There is currently 23 people waiting to play a game (You click and join the game) and 513 games being played. They have tournaments and all sorts its realy good IMO. If you click on lives games you can watch them play , Quick pic here :-

This is someone else's game , Gives you an idea.

I have paid nothing at the moment , Grab the app and register. All of the watching and offline stuff it totally free if you register. I have been playing the training games on there (Doubles training ect). You will never be board again !

Haha sorry i did that slightly wrong , You get 3 online games free & all the offline stuff is free.

$34.99 a year give you unlimited online stuff and it does your stats as well.

Sorry my bad ! I will change the above.

I actually bought a cheaper supermarket dart board last week for my games room as the finishing touch.

My board and surround was an Argos one , £75 for the set. Nice as well. Just ordered a decent mat and some other darts (Set come with some but they are realy light)
