I've got a load of 2114 SRAM off a board I'm working on, and want to test them all out of circuit. I saw this tester on eBay which looks pretty nifty. Anyone have one and can give their views on it?

Thanks.

I've not used that one, but I built one a Retro Chip Tester pro last year, allowing for the PCB with mounted MCU and the parts I didn't have sitting around, it cost me about £160 with the 2708 adapter (only needed to program them, it can read them anyway!)

The one I built!

n.b. if you decide to build one, I think I have spare PCBs for the 2708 programmer.

Nice. I've been looking at the Retro Chip Tester, but they mostly come in kit form. I don't need another build project at the moment. I will definitely get one at some point if/when my electronics knowledge improves.

I've ordered one, so will see how I get on with it. Seller is very helpful.

Also, asked to be put on the waiting list for a SLICE, as that looks amazing. I will need to up my knowledge to use it fully, though.

Just had a proper look and looks decent to me. Slice is great once you get your head around it , I started using it then had a breaks for 12 or so months so I need to relearn when I do get back to it.

Hi, Did you buy the Dram / Sram tester from Ebay and if so what did you think of it?

Yeah, it's very good. The seller is very helpful and does firmware updates. Also takes requests for other types of RAM/SRAM to be added.

Shortly after getting it, I managed to get a Retro Chip Tester, though, which can test a whole lot more chips, not just memory. It's a lot more expensive, so this little tester is good value for money.

Hi, I am the designer and manufacturer of the Multi Retro DRAM SRAM Tester, I thought I recognised your nickname from your purchase in January.

I have just this week updated the firmware to V5.34.

Glad you like it.

Have fun.

Phil.
