Been following this on facebook for a while and the more I see the more I think this could be a goer. My reasoning is.

- 1k for what is a 26inch 4.3 LCD Candy Cab seems pretty reasonable. Nothing really comparable out there.
- They have updated their monitor and it looks as good as you would get from an LCD.
- Candy cab style but not massive and heavy.
- Plays Jamma games out of the box.

All these home arcades get thrown into the same bin as being cheap mdf crap and although I am sure this is not gonna be up to the build quality of a commercial Astro, Egret etc it seems good enough and looks pretty stylish to my eyes.

I have started to get into CPS2 boards and this seems like a good option, is anyone else on a similar fence? Having spent a whole summer restoring multiple old cabs having something new in box definitely has its plus points, that should turn on every time.

Cheaper to get a JAMMA cab with a Groovymame setup. LCD screen that size will probably have lag too. Might not be perceptible to most casual gamers but it will be there.

I've been looking at them when checking out their monitors. If it looked a bit better and had a UK distributer I think I'd be more interested. Appears better than most.

You can buy them direct off their website in the UK using £. I get the point that a jamma cab is cheaper, but the points I made for liking it are not solved by a 30 year old jamma cab running groovy mame

Probably quite a lot of demand for a slightly smaller product that can be shipped in the regular parcel post, in several parts and does not need specialist transport.
Has a custom manufactured 4:3 CRT, they have been selling these as there main product as drop in replacements for classic cabinets, so you know they are compatible and will sync with most PCB's. Comes with JAMMA/breakout/USB IO included, so you can hook up other devices such as consoles
The quality looks to be pretty good, perhaps not really for everyday commercial usage, eg the metal is thinner than say a vewlix, but a million times better than arcade 1up.

Personally if someone can save 1k then for me id keep saving for a real candy.ive seen sega naomi arcade machines second hand online between 800-1500,also nice slim form factor, especially net city(standup version).just my opinion.

Don't look too bad if you like Candy type cabs, 50kg so still quite weighty

It's good option for people that don't wanna mess with old stuff and not over the top price compared to some of the stuff seen over the years like those woody cabs Argos sold

Yes, going to appeal to quite a few casual collectors who have a few JAMMA pcbs or a console and want to play them in a cabinet easily, with support and a warrantee.

If It was a regular commercial cabinet then I would probably go with Exa ARC-32 over a Vewlix these days as it's got quite a few upgrades to the monitor, speakers, lighting and so on.

$500 delivery being quoted although it says "P.O. Box or APO/FPO/DPO and International delivery are not available now." and then you have to add VAT on top of the price and shipping cost.

So nearly £1600 once you factor that and the courier customs fees.

Does look decent for what it is, certainly better than an Arcade 1up no matter what people say.

If it was 1k all in I’d be slightly tempted. As it stands with shipping and taxes you’re looking £1600 plus I looks like which is genuine Astro City territory!

I found this via another forum and don't think it's a terrible deal. No monitor but someone in the states bought one and said build quality was pretty good.

To be honest I was tempted by one (due to candy cabs being too deep for the space I have), specifically without the base as I have an old metal retail storage unit in the garage which basically looks like the bottom half of a candy cab. The problem is the shipping is ridiculous, literally cheaper to have a full cab shipped to your door from China.

I don't really know why they don't flatpack it like the Arcade1UP cabinets to make selling them worldwide a decent option.

I just wonder if it’s comfortable to play looks cramp.

I think the unico fills a void in that 4:3 lcd 29” or (27”) was not available.

they are capitalizing on the screen as much as poss..
Size of the population in usa they will shift a few.

a better 29” oled 4:3 sega /taito next gen would be more of a welcome

Possibly a specialist UK retailer will sell them in future, although that does not necessarily mean the price will go down.
Yes flat pack would make more sense, as they are mostly modular. I think it was going to be shipped two boxes for the top and bottom sections, but possibly they have gone for one big box hence the increased postage?

A 27" LCD pretty much equals a 29" CRT when you account for visible picture size.

CRTs are quoted as tube size and the visible picture size is always smaller.
