Anyone have a dedicated FoodFight cab?

The one in Blackpool was in Coral Island located in the prom lower deck area - volume used to be high and you hear the attract mode quite clearly. Don't recall seeing one in Purple Penny, but we are talking 30 years ago. Tough game, coded by the same company that brought you Crazy Otto/MsPacman - GCC.

Food Fight and Quantum were produced by GCC - part of the Atari settlement for Super Missile Attack.

There was a third game too - Nightmare - there's apparently one know boardset for this game (a modified Food Fight PCB) but the owner has never released the roms.

Yes, you're right, it was Coral Island, i remember now. I'm sure they had a couple of brand new cabs on test at the time too. I seem to remember one of them involving skiing down a hill.

I think it would have been Alpine Ski, but that game came out in 81 and Food Fight was 83. I went to Blackpool twice around those years, i think i must be thinking of two seperate visits to Coral Island.

Nice game this. I didn't get to play it much at all as it was a rare one.

I only ever saw one machine on the North Wales coast in years of gaming and that was in Colwyn Bay, out of all the arcades in Llandudno, Rhos, Colwyn Bay, Towyn, Rhyl etc.

It just happened to be in one of those arcades that opens and then closes after a few months (maybe a year as my memory of the 80s isn't great). Food Fight was in a what was a large unit next to the old Princess Theatre (now Weatherspoons). Not even sure if the arcade had a name it was open for such a short time.
