Not really sure where to post it - mods, please move elsewhere if appropriate.

Situation is as follows - many moons ago I used to be able to advertise my board repair services on Ebay. However a while back Ebay put a stop to this - now if I want to advertise board repairs I have to put it in a section where arcade collectors are extremely unlikely to look.

I do of course want to advertise my repair service in the arcade Ebay (where people will also see it just by browsing), but am not allowed to do so.

I CAN advertise a repair service in the arcade section with a flat rate cost, but as you all know, repair costs are variable and depend on the amount of time take, what parts need to be replaced, etc.

So, if I use a flat rate charge it will either put people off (due to being too expensive in order to cover all eventualities) or too cheap, meaning I'll be making a loss.

So what's the solution? Any ideas please? Naturally I don't want to break any Ebay rules and end up booted off the site.

Thanks in anticipation.

How about advertising an evaluation service for a fixed fee? As in you will take a look at the board for £40 and if they want to go ahead with the repair then it gets deducted from the repair cost.

Just my 2p
