Wanting to order some stuff from arcadeshop in the US they take visa but will my bank charge for the privilege?

You'll get a non sterling transaction fee the same as you will any non UK transaction. It will only be a couple of quid though. I'm assuming of course that you're not spending 100's !!
I know this because I had something turn up from them last week. Beware the shipping / customs / handling fees. My $60 parts cost me £100 all in. But I had no choice, nowhere else to buy the bits from.

You probably will get customs charges as the customs system is computer based so almost nothing escapes regardless of size.
I also doubt they will mark low value as it is now a federal offence to do this with quite severe penalties for the individual aswell as the company!

Yeah, my total was only $62 on the declaration. I got hit from all angles. First time it's ever happened to me as well. I shipped a $600 Fluke not long after we moved house. Huge great parcel. No idea how that escaped crippling charges but there wasn't a single charge on that.
Not complaining, they have to do what they have to do, of course. But plan for it and you won't be surprised.

You won't save. Just suck it up and order.
The more you order, the bigger the parcel, the more the postage, the more the VAT and customs duty. To be fair, I only paid £15 in customs and £8 of that was Royal Mail's handling charge, which is a lot less than some companies charge. The charge was VAT. There was no excise duty imposed.
