Are there any classic arcades in the uk?

Google brings up loads of rubbish, I found the arcade barn in Exeter but it's now closed! Are there any proper classic arcades here in the Uk at all? Or is there just not enough interest for them to survive?

The new arcade in Southend has some classics in it. There's nothing like they have in the states unfortunately. The conditions to make money with these games just don't exist in the UK, rents, rates, energy bills, etc are all just too high. You either need somewhere so cheap the small intake of coins can cover the cost OR you need something else (like a bar) with games as a gimmick.

It's hopeless here in the uk, the one DanP mentioned is the best bet from what I've seen, I reckon your going to have to put some money to one side & visit Fun Spot in America for the realistic arcade experience

I've never been but a member on here called rgp holds gaming events & has a big selection of cabs & pinballs, there is a video of the last event in the meets section somewhere, looks really good.

If you into fruties thern there are 2 in the south east, Maidstone and Gravesend which is well worth a visit! only video is a prize space invaders in Maidstone! I recently got it working for them!

Machines from 1980's MPU3 (line up, nudges unlimited, autoroute) with nothing later than around the year 2002, just clasic machines all working and on 90% payouts so they put the amusement back into playing fruties!

I found a few classics in September, over at Teignmouth pier arcade...South Devon. No pins though. I hear Weston Supermare is supposed to be an arcade mecca, been meaning to check it out.

Weston pier has the best modern arcade I think you'll find nowadays, they have around 20 videos, things like OutRun 2, Crazy Taxi, F355, Mario Kart & Pac-Man battle royale 4-player, lots to keep the family entertained so well worth a day out. 4 decent pinballs there too.
I was there a few weekends ago and all the games were running perfectly and it's easy to get on everything this time of year

There are 2 awesome classic arcades that I know of in the UK. One is at RGP's lair and the other is at the Unigame unit
