I have a asteroids cocktail machine that seems to have a very hissy power brick.
It was powering up last time I switched it on but now nothing apart from a hiss.
My questions is can I put the power brick from my missile command cocktail in it just to eliminate the power supply is faulty?
Are all the voltages the same? The bricks look identicale?

Cheers,
Steve

No. If you grab the schems (always a good place to start ...) you'll see that the bricks output different voltages.

When you say `nothing apart from a hiss' does that mean that you've tested the voltages and they are all absent, or simply that the machine doesn't power up? If you've not testedfor voltages then you need to do some really very basic fault finding before you'll make any progress. Check to see which pins should give what voltages. Check for those voltages. Check fuses. Report back. Most likely either a fuse, bidge rectifier, or both. Or big blue. Should cost you no more than £4 to sort it out.

Check the voltages as said above. The power supply does not need to be connected to anything (any load) for you to test it
