Re: [ukvac] astro blaster chips
4027 is a 4k x 1 DRAM.

I bought a tube from another collectors own stock (who, incidentally
is not in the arcade game anymore) so not much help there i'm afraid!

Sorry.

Martin.

Those rams are typically quite expensive (£4-£5 each).. are you sure you
need to replace them all? They are tough to find, and its very wasteful
to shotgun replace all the ram when you probably don't need to.

I could probably sell you some if you need them tho, just not 16 in one
hit.

Also the astro blasters test should so the bad ram, if it wont run the test
(or you cant see it run the test) you could swap them round a bit until you
can, this is assuming you have no other way of testing the ram.

Best regards,
Craig

Re: [ukvac] astro blaster chips
hi Andy
yes i do need at least 16 as the power unit had a bad day and sent a big power surge into the vid board
a fatly tip125 that had been replaced last week
it killed all the rams and some blue up tops in bits
i do have spare boards as astro blaster is my fav game but will need some sooner or later
as my only scrap vid board only has 8 rams left
can i use a different chip ???
or is there some where i can get these chips in bulk
time to start to look for more board sets i think
thanks for any help
let me know if you can let me have any chips and how many
regards martin

Re: [ukvac] astro blaster chips
Sorry, i have very few myself and haven't even got to looking at my
Gorf boards yet.

Also, even if i don't end up needing any of them to fix the spare gorf
boardset (unlikely since it has ram errors!) Gorf is a keeper machine
in my collection (my first dedicated cab) so the rams need to be
keepers too :(

Harsh i know, sorry...

Martin.
