Atari Cabaret Marquees

Before I go at it with my Blungeoning Monkey Hands ... Is there a simple way to remove the Marquees on an Atari Cabaret? Like the one in the image below ...

Are they some kind of rivet that needs to be gently drilled out ... I've tried allen keys and they don't seem right ... Anyone removed one before??? And if they are rivets what do I need to refit them?

I believe they are all riveted on. You will need to drill them carefully and then rivet it back on again with the same spec rivet or you may crack it.

I've seen these cabarets with the marquees bolted back on which maybe an option if you don't have a rivet applicator.

The problem is that the holes the rivers are in are not drilled all the way through, so when you drill out the rivets you will find most stay behind. Nightmare.

I have the proper Atari spec rivets but found once I’d drilled the old ones out the hole had widened and I couldn’t use the new rivets. Bigger nightmare.

In the end I used some black screws and some wall plugs.

Don’t remove unless you really need to.
