The Pedal to the Metal:

Footpedal_original.JPG

Here`s the bottom of the foot pedal with the wood taken off,I repainted it but I tried to
retain the original serial numbers as best I could:

Will post some more foot pedal pics when I find them -The wood under this bit took a few days to dry out.

So after all my efforts , I thought I would take a pre look of what the various bits looked like together,
I had installed wheels to make it easy to shift and rotate,Im getting old now and I`ve had a few near death experiences trying to access difficult corners etc..
Repainted the kick plate and filled in alot of the dodgy edges..decided on Green T-Moulding as my missus insisted!

At the moment I`m re-capping the monitor, which is fun as I`m learning to solder too..
so far 3 caps replaced and two soldering Iron burns..
I think I`m ahead.

I played this too ..on a home console.
The arcade impression the game left on me was quite strong.
I had a bit of a buzz the other week,I could remember a game that I had played when I was maybye 4-5 years old which inspired me and my brother to go home and make a game from a cardboard box and a roll of wallpaper.
Lo and behold the game I had thought was a one off came up on ebay a week or so ago.
Its a driving game ,with a real toy car {on a rod} and a vinyl road scrolled behind it.
I got a couple of photos of it Brighton Run or something, triggered so many memories.

One day -I`ll get hold of one and who knows what memories that will trigger!!??
The Irony is I hate driving in real life :)

Slight Update..
The Night driver is all pretty but still not working,My soldering skills have improved alot.
My camera is broken so it will be a short interlude before I can show you how far Iv`e got with this project.
I`m working on a dedicated Bombjack at my mums at the same time ,my Dad died in October and throwing myself into projects has helped alot.
New camera will get me moving again :)

Sorry to hear about your Dad, a good project does help to focus your mind elsewhere and well done
on the restoration so far it looks great.

Look forward to seeing the completion.
