Would anyone be able to rebuild this power supply or any recommendations on anyone that could please

I took it out and cleaned it .after game stopped working
Changed the 5v fuse which came apart in my hands .cleaned around the fuse holder which was black
and it worked for a few seconds

It’s out of my 720 euro cab

Thanks in advance

So I’ve taken this out again and gave it a better clean
It has blown 5v fuse
Is there any way of cleaning that fuse holder for the 5v

I’ve noticed this crud on this part shown ,is that glue from factory just
Or could that possibly be my problem with 5v blowing ?
Or is the /could the fuse holder be the problem ?

I’m going to have to change this fuse holder for sure
Soldering onto a board .oh no
Is there a way maybe I could use a switcher for the 5v just ?

You could use a swticher for +5v and use the PSU for the two AC outputs (if those still work) would require some hackery though. Shame it didn't use the same setup as the US version as it looks like that uses a standard switcher and a transformer for the rest. You do like the oddball stuff though. ;)

Do schematics even exist for that power supply? I cannot see a model number or any markings.

you know me to well with this oddball stuff 😂
The only good thing yo my advantage though ,maybe is ..
The pcbs are Atari,so maybe that makes things better for schematics

It was all working and playing
There was a small smell of burning when it turned itself off
I’ve almost convinced myself it was the dust on the power supply burning .no smoke
It also made a sound of the coin counter clocking up

The 5 v fuse holder is broken for sure
My belief is that everything else is working
Though what could have caused the 5v fuse to blow .maybe years of use and it was maybe slightly burnt up ?
Maybe it’s the only problem

It looks like there was poor contact on the fuse which caused high resistance that then creates heat, then that creates more resistance and so on until eventually it just burns / blows the fuse. Same thing often happens in pinball machines.

I could recap it and replace the fuse holders for you but the issue comes with testing it, I don't have a load tester or the pinouts for it.

Any idea what that is between the power supply and transformer that looks like some sort of bomb? If it's a filter cap for the +5v that could have shorted.

I'd say same with fuse holder poor causing it to heat up, get that replaced and probably be fine

Pole Position 2 I had was dead when bought it, funny how people always joke about sellers saying its probably just a fuse and all that was wrong with the cab was someone had fitted a Car Fuse holder instead of original, no surprise it was all melted and fuse blown as they are designed for 12v not 240v, replaced correctly and cab was up and running, okay it wasn't fully working as slight gfx issue but I only paid £10 so was happy with that lol

Thanks bods that’s the hope 🙏
I’ll have to practice soldering to a board first though
I’ve avoided it for years since my last effort

It's a lot easier than Welding  don't use cheap solder, heat the metal pin and pcb pad and solder will just flow round if it's all clean, I've got some cheap solder I got free but it's hard work with that rubbish, long as it's decent brand with flux cores you'll be fine.

To practice you could just practice tinning end of wire, if you can do that okay you'll be fine, watch some youtube vids first I'm assuming they'll be some, I do it for things I'm not good at, get some good tips too
