I was thinking of using some chrome spray paint to give it a bit of a shine, any thoughts?

Have you already tried a bit of metal polish and a dremel?

That's as polished as it goes. The rust has eaten all it's shine away.

Don't apply any paint. It'll wear off as soon as someone pushes the button and look naff.
Leave it as is. Looks nice and original

Nice job getting rid of the rust, that is a massive change there mate.

The chrome spray will wear a bit, although depends on how much you press it. Might need to try it on something to see how even a result you can get, got a lot of small surfaces.

Thanks guys...going to leave it as it is then. I didn't think I'd get all the rust off.
I've resprayed the Zaccaria coin door logo plate with chrome. As it's plastic the place I took it to couldn't re-chrome it or do anything with it. It looks so much better now

How did you clean it? The one in my defender cab looks as rusty as your before you cleaned it.

I've inadvertently polished metal when cleaning it with Brasso wadding in the past, certainly worth attacking it with that if you have some handy.

Get a bottle of Jenolite, disregard the instructions and pour some into a cup (at this point, I suggest not using your best cup as you probably won't want to drink out of it again) ...submerge your rusty coin reject pieces and let them soak over night...dry them off and then use some very fine grade wire wool, 0000 is what I used. Sadly you won't get the original chrome shine back, however...much improvement from the rust

I tried it with brasso but, it didn't seem to make much difference. I may wait until my next batch of fine wire wool arrives and apply it with that. I'll let you know if there's an improvement. I will also keep my eyes peeled at this year's Pinball Party...see if one of the stalls have a coin reject button for sale

If you look at the bmx guys, they poish metal up to like a chrome finish. wirth trying autosol and just keep polishing it for ages and see if it gets shiny
