Looking for some of this black what looks like plastic in a sponge kind of inner texture! It’s very light and firm, any one know what it’s called?

Thanks Ronnie

This will be fixed dedicated vertical, ideally would want it in one piece roughly 600mm square, not sure that foam board is the stuff I’m looking for ? The foam is sandwiched with thin pvc
Cheers Ronnie

Possibly a type of foam Board ?
What size monitor have you got ?
I was making a few replacement monitor surrounds last week . I use heavy duty grey card (hobbycraft ) sprayed with matt black - Lordsvale project.

I did exactly the same for a LCD monitor replacement when a CRT died but did manage to get Black from hobbycraft. How did you cut yours out of interest as I went through a couple of sheets :) Yours looks almost perfect !

Cheers mate!
I spent a fair bit of time as made 4 different version of black bezel for various 20” monitor surrounds.. I traced the 20inch monitor and then made a template onto mdf which I then used to cut out the heavy duty card . The reason I go grey board and then spray Matt Black is the surface has less reflection and card is easier/ cleaner to finish than foam board.
Sometimes I use a spade drill bit if the months frame bolts need notching out.

Thats a better idea I used scissors to try and just cut it out , and after 2 failed attempts seems the wife can cut a lot straighter edge than me !
Nice to have complimentary skills !
I guess whatever masks out the monitor frame hardware and sharpens the focus on the screen works .

I used black mount board for this, if you're looking for other material ideas. Recommend buying the right tools to work with it, usual straight edge and blade won't give a clean result.
