Ex-lurker!
Hello everyone,
I went to the Blackpool Arcade Club in Blackpool on Bloomfield Rd, next to the football ground last Thursday evening. There's some parking on site, but I expect it might get more challenging to park at the venue at weekends.
It was fairly quiet, to be expected on a Thursday, and we had the the run of the place. There's a great line up of retro machines as well as more modern shooters, novelty games and fun stuff for kids including hoop games, guitar hero and dance games. I spent most of the evening in the Star Wars cockpit and they had a nice Outrun Deluxe that made me a bit travel sick
All your favourites are there, so I had Q*Bert to play and some oddities too, so Atari Quantum (switched off) and a Missile Command that was on the fritz. That said, the vast majority of games were working just fine. Pong needed some attention to the TV and the paddles. Also a few modern pins downstairs, including some Sterns - Dr No got my attention. Would love to see a Tron or an EDOT
We had a burger and chips in the cafe area that was tasty and well priced. It was £10 per adult on Thursday Eve which is great value considering all the games you can play and what it would cost in a pay to play arcade. I'll be bringing my kids next time as it's a family friendly venue and not all retro.
Highly recommend a visit!
