As for the free credit stuff, doesn't the 'S' coin on bombjack end the level you're on early?
It does and that means you could miss out on the end of level bonus. So on the early levels it's usually a disadvantage to pick it up. Bitd when each game cost you 10p it was a different matter... a free game would trump any scoring detriment!

This afternoon, at Arcade Club, I managed to break the half a million points barrier on Bomjack! No great shakes, I know, but it's a PB for me. Achieving it in a proper arcade was the icing on the cake. Might have to sink some more time into this when I get home.

Just wanted to say...absolutely outstanding scores from all, and one of my favourite games ever, im pretty rubbish but enjoy it so much, even though my 17 year old son can score higher than me.
I think im hovering late 200k, he is around 350k

Nice score,not sure but I think it goes up to round 50 and then uses level 1 again. Galaga does this with the challenging stages, never new galaga had a rapid fire button,the cab in the arcade I played when it came out only had one button lol.

One of my all time favourite games, ive been known to hit well over 1 million from time to time.
there is a trick to the patterns the bombs light up for going round screen, you can get em to light up to go clockwise or anti-clockwise which can make it easier to navigate. just make a note of which side the bird starts and go opposite way round to it if your wanting to get the 50k each screen.
Youll need to get x5 score count to get over 100k on first level no easy feat ive done it a few times, 8 lite bombs to trigger the power "P" then get all those that turn yellow/gold for each power "P" you get out. If you goo denough then you should get around 53/54k then 50k for the 23 lite bombs collected.
As you decend from a jump keep pressing jump button as you come down as your score goes up, its kinda like getting your self to float down.
As far as i know the "B" bonus multiplier is random as to how it comes out, so is the "E" for extra life along with "S" for extra credit.

My idea on triggering extra life was collecting 50 lite bombs nothing to do with "B" collecting ( which carnt be like 20, then 5 then say another 10 on another screen its got to be 50 sequential ) so clear 23 on first 2 screens collect next 4 lite bombs on 3rd should give you an extra life
Yeah def every 5000. It's a useful thing to know if you are going for high scores because a good tactic is to end a level as close as you can to a five thousand. E.g. If you end a level on 84,950, when you start the next level you will pick up a B after collecting just one bomb. Or if you were very greedy you could just jump a few times (scoring points for each jump) to push you over 85,000 to release a B. By getting a B at the very start of the level, all of the bombs are worth twice as much, helping your score and release the next Bs quicker, which in turn will boost your score further. iamjimmi2019-09-27 06:25:53
The Powerball ball cycles through its value each time you make a "jump" action from a platform, ground or wall. It starts from blue (200) and rises to 400, 800. Gold is 1200, silver 2k.
The "E" is related to the amount of "B"s that are triggered, as I generally will pop the "E" at the beginning of wave 3, on the first 5k multiple. So that makes 8 "B" followed by the "E". Not 100% sure on that but it's pretty close.
As to the bird, it naturally spawns to the left, unless you happen to have the joystick held to the left at the screen start. In that case it will spawn to the right.
I'm guessing this video is Kernyzp due to the gameplay.

Think that's the vid I watched for tips a while ago. He point presses a lot on the walls. This can be useful for gettting the "B"s to come out quicker, or to cue one up for the next round, but I personally find point pressing tedious. I like to just go at the game and enjoy it.

Need to practice the later levels more.
Kudos to Jim who beat me fair and square to the 1m milestone. And always amazing to watch Bombjac when he is playing.
