I am seriously thinking about buying my own setup. Anyone have any experience in which hardware I should be looking at. Roland used to be the daddies, but not sure any more.
Yeah, Archer's done a lot of great artwork over the years. Artwork that comes out as good as the original screen printed stuff quite frankly (I have some), but I suspect nobody much else is going to have any decent input for you because of the large sums of cash involved. It would not surprise me one bit to learn that the setup Archer uses is in the 5 figure range.
That's not intended to be negative incidentally, it would be great for there to be another source
Yes I kinda thought it would run to that sort of level, but I think an entry of around 6k with materials is realistic for a used unit. Im still researching.
roland make the gx24 cutter, which is a superb cutter and has a optical eye so can cut out any printing you want,I have just bought 1 and they cost new 1700 uk, as for printing you can use any kind of printer on special vinyl or a proper big specialist printer that will cost 6k and up,hope this helps
oh i forgot, obviously you are limited to what the printer can handle e.g a4 etc, or look at a versacamm by Roland, i think it is what you are searching for
