Swallow Amusements had a small selection. Never had a problem with him but seem to recall the 900/e kit looking a bit pricey as I need a couple myself.

Was thinking of ordering online myself but need to find the correct UK model cap values - some of the 900/e models detailed online are for US units which vary slightly IIRC.

In most cases you can use a higher voltage rating without issue, but there are some cases where a higher-rated cap will have different characteristics. It's not normally very important but IIRC one area where it might be is in stages of SMPSUs.

But as long as you're not going for something specced as 63V and adding a 400V for example, you should be good.

As a rule I only go 2 standard values higher, so for example 25v to replace 16v or 10v but not 6.3v in that case I'd use the 16V.

And my audiophile lecturer many years ago told us never to do it on audio circuits he reckoned the audio distorted.

Unfixable? What's that word mean?

If its in switchmode psu's it is often better to go to a higher voltage rating if they will fit due to them handling higher ripple currents which make the psu's overall better and the capacitors less stressed! also 105 deg C ones are more suited due to there lower ESR rating
