everyone seems to have problems with " THE COLLECTORS WIFE SYNDROME" ....i am very lucky to have an understanding wife..................
trouble is she now understands how to get cups of tea and breakfast in bed and meals out........etc....... she threatens industrial action or restrictions on house space for cherished artifacts................. tho we have a few framed pinball glasses on walls and other arcadia memorabilia about
just looking around me in this house weve lived in since 1985........ she keeps nagging about stuff in the house,,,,,, this is the dining room where i sit at computer while she watches big brother................ in the lounge..... where she has a wurlitzer vinyl jukebox and a sound leisure tudor cd juke to play with............... bloomin bay city rollers (sorry they're from up your way arent they?)......
otherwise the house remains 'quite machine free' ,,,,,,,,, we only have a cromptons tooty fruity penny skill thing in the front porch..and a beaver that vends skittles sweets for 20p.............. the dining room is full of video boards at the moment due to overdue workshop sorting............
however the conservatory has an old bally 1p armpul and a bell fruit action line 1p 70s also armpul but floorstanding a wild west shooter with ball bearings which vends a gobstopper and shoots at a western saloon.......... and a 2p arcade coin pusher,,,,,,, i share the space with her chest deep freeze and her tumble drier so shes quite......... amicable arrangement... somewhere under the added junk theres a quirky old butchers weigh and price scales with the swing accross needle which has price per pound like a sliderule reckoner........ out back in the workshop and beyond is about another 40???? impossible to count........ its a good thing we have industrial storage/workshop in wales too or we would have a garden full
shes good at recovering pooltables tho and lifting machines in and out of places.and she never complains at the workload.... i even let her press the buttons on the taillifts of the vans ,,,,,saving her energy for mowing our huge lawn thats a big part of our 50metre rear garden........ she has her own shed for garden stuff and machine stuff is forbidden there!!!!!!!!! but my welder and power hose and portable generator is ok! (shhh! theres a box of namco guns in there somewhere?)
seriously shes wonderful.......... every collector should have a wife like mine - (shes a pinball wizzard and plays frequently) she beats me at pool ........ and thats embarassing sometimes. but on top of that she s good at cooking up nice meals...... and we have had 3 great daughters who seem to have married guys that find themselves regularly moving machines too......... well one does the other two are a PE teacher and a computer genius for ok magazine (IT crowd) and only get partly roped in........
