With stuff like COD MW3, and perhaps COD (which is way cheaper now), if I were to get it on Steam, would I be able to play against my mates who have the 360 version, or are the servers just like for like?

Went round to sort out me mates cruddy BT home hub for him tonight so he could get online with MW3 and have to say, it was quite addictive fun. But I like a mouse and keyboard, especially for FPS's. Never mind the fact that I'm damned if I'm shelling out £40 / year or whatever it is for the XBL membership.

Yep, /me = tight!

I was a mouse n keyboard fps player for years then made the switch to the 360 versions. It does take a while to adapt to the controller but I'd say I'm about as good as I was previously now. It can be done is all I'm saying :)

The live fee is a bit steep but you do get the opportunity to play other games as well (like driving games and some arcade games). I think the decision was easier for me cos all the people I play games against now have/want to play on the 360.

I was all for the console versions for a long time, and have had gold membership in the past too. I've since switched back to PC gaming so the Mrs can use the consoles and it's just sooo much better. Nowhere near quick enough wither the mushrooms on the controller!

Ok, so I won't bother with them then. Unless of course I pick them up über cheap

PS: I'm tight with some things, but it's all relative. I just did a 12 month subscription to WoW, and in the summer bought the Tron pinball. So not THAT tight!
