I have a commando with corrupt backgrounds and flaky/missing sprites.
This is a bootleg board but as far as I understand it's a 1 to 1 copy of the original 3 board stack.
I started with the background issue:
The background is handled by the top board. Looking over the chips, I spot a few fajitsu's, so I started on them. Finding pin 19 stuck high at 3E on a ls273, I decided to pull it and throw it in the tester.
Socket and new chip, fixed:
I'm suspecting the missing sprites are a ram issue, but that will have to wait for another day.
