Hey,

What would you guys recommend to fix and tidy up some damage to a control panel housing? There's a small section (probably about 1cm to an inch in size) that's broken off the panel, where it screws into the cabinet (atomiswave candy cabinet). It looks like someone undid the screws and didn't hold it and it's sheared off with the weight.
It will mainly be a cosmetic repair, as with just 3 screws holding the panel it's robust enough, but I'd like to try and repair and have it strong enough to have a screw go through it again.
I was thinking of using a fiber glass resin kit - maybe with some gauze to help shape things.

Am I an idiot? Help me out!

Thanks,

Adam

Yeah i'd go with Fiber Glass Resin Kit, I used it on Sega F355 side panel to repair corner, can't get anything stronger to fix it really

Just looked and you can buy Pigment colours to mix with the resin if you want it certain colour, think I tried mixing in some paint which worked but wondered if you can get proper stuff

If it is where I think it is from your description, then I agree with the FG resin kit. Photo's might help though if you are in any doubt.
Thanks for the advice, here's a snap of the panel and break .
I'm thinking of packing the screw hole with some cardboard or a suitable screw and then work the fibre glass resin around it.

Photo at least helps me realise thatvthe are built somewhat differently to the sega candies I have.

Still the FG kit should still be suitable. If this is a particularly weak or stress point you could add some metal for strength to the rear, within the FG repair.

For the hole, personally I would completely cover and refill once the new resin has been set and sanded etc.
