As it's Christmas what toy from the 1970's would you say was the coolest or your Favourite, not ones from 80's or 90's just 70's

Think I would have to rate this as one of the coolest 1970's toys, the speech is awesome on it and pretty amazing for 1978 I thought

I would say Vertibird.
Having played the mechanical helicopter games in early arcades:

The vertibird was the home version:

Arcade game in my own home.
Wonder where that will lead......

That's pretty cool for 1971 some good info on it here https://www.rchelicopterfun.com/mattel-vertibird.html

When we were younger my dads mate was always messing with electronics and radio control boats, planes etc and he made a big space age looking control panel with tons of switches, controls, calculator type keypad, made all different noises and also it connected up to an aeroplane on a pole with cable going to it, bearing at the top and you could take off flying round and land it again, pretty much like this but not as much control being plane, was quite big though so had it setup in garden

Best was, obviously, Evel Kneival stunt cycle. Which I never got. Absolutely worst was Airfix Flight Deck - which I did get.

I feel your pain lol, I really wanted one too but never got one, Think I did get to play with lads at Junior school though

Quite good Gyro based toys, anything that saved the nightmare of batteries was a bonus :)

My brother had this for Christmas one year, not sure what year but they came out early 70's

Used to get played with quite a lot, probably more by me, I searched for ages on internet years ago and couldn't find what it was as I couldn't remember the name then one day down tip mate found this

A very cool present which I got and was not able to find until recently was this. Did anyone else have it from the 70's?

This was a rocket toy. It was a simple red plastic rocket. To launch it there were two cardboard tubes. One fit inside the other. You would extend the inner card board tube out as far as you could and place the rocket on the end. While holding the inner tube at the top with both hands with your thumbs holding onto the rocket, you would slide it down into the slightly bigger tube and create compressed air. As soon as you hit the bottom, you let go of the rocket and it would shoot up really far. The air would leak out really fast so you had to time it just right.
