Possibly the new battery is faulty or installed incorrectly? The capacitor may have had enough charge to keep the keys in memory for a day or 2...Its possible.

I would try installing an infinikey to rule out problems with the key to begin with.

If you have access to a burner I recommend burning the phoenix roms and see will the board boot, if it does its a problem with the battery or battery installation if it doesnt its the board, ive had this a few times when the boards are not correctly joined together also so check that, they often appear to be but disconnect the a from the b and reinsert again check pins are clear etc

Hi Folks,
In this days i tried a swap all rom kit phoenix B board (capcom sports club) with another phoenix board (SSF) and I found that the problem is not in phoenix rom but in the B board.

viewed the pcb and there are no breaking traces.
But have this component in this contition

result a static unicolor (red,or green, or other)

have any ideas about componet? diode?

Honestly it sounds like keys are not being written. When you swapped in Phoenix roms from a different game did you solder the jumpers on the b board to match the game?

Also check the Phoenix roms you put in to make sure they are ok.

I had similar issues on one board (particularly dev 4 boards) I removed the battery and installed an infinikey and it came back to life.

Did you use phoneixed roms that match the game that was already on the board? If you used phoneixed roms from a different game on the board you would need to make sure the pal chip is the same and the soldered jumpers match the game.

If the phoenix roms match the game (eg the b board was Super Street Fighter 2 and you used phoenixed roms for Super Street fighter 2) then thats a different story.

Hi pedro

I exchanged the phoenix roms of the CAPCOM SPORTS CLUB game on a phoenix B board of SSF the new challenge. I didn't touch the PAL and neither did the jumpers

the strange thing is the B board of capcom sports club (phonenix rom) board not working, but if I remove the ROMS and install in SSF tnc B board the game works fine.

I think the board is faulty and the screen is a static color like sucide board
