I have a couple of CRT's that I'm willing to swap for arcade parts. I'm open to all offers, but I'm really after a midway Galaga joystick.

Tatung were good, can't say I ever saw a Green TV though in all my years working with them, didn't see many in different colours I had a nice Pye 17" TV in Red, I like the old Ghetto Blasters that were Red, Blue, White, Yellow but no Green ones I can think of apart from those later 90s JVC Kaboom RV-B90

I love the ones on ebay that were orignally white and now plastic gone a manky cream colour and they list em as being Yellow

Actually I did have a green one, I got one of these from the tip and looking there are a few in green over the years

so when LCD TV's took off, I can remember getting first one I put in bedroom, I replaced the 21" Sony with LCD I repaired, I kept my CRT monitors until LCD were getting more common and I got ones cheap or faulty and repair them so most were ditching CRT for LCD at a fast rate going on all the CRT's down the tip so at what point did loads decide we need to go back to CRT, wasn't anyone playing console games anymore? could they not see back then its not the same on LCD? why did everyone wait till tons of CRT have been dumped and shipped to other countries before they decide, baffling really

I remember after replacing my 25" Sony in lounge for LCD and the main reason was you can have something much bigger which doesn't break you back, I never had any widescreen CRT, after all CRT ones gone I dumped all the old CRT TV boards I had and then started buying arcade machines and thought I ditched all the CRT stuff to now buy old games with a CRT Monitor  and then wish I'd kept all the old parts I had

Think it was mainly that the resolution of current consoles was going up and 480p onwards looked OK on lcd/led .. then the slimness and weight saving plus larger screen sizes just took over from there... CRT is still only really clearly best for 240p/480i, maybe still 480p... after that 16:9 and higher resolutions negated the advantages of 4:3 CRTs..... alas.
