I’ve let my defender have a few treats of late
A nice (amazing )power supply rebuild by phil
A new cpo and marquee from olly
It’s running on original boards
As you can see in pic I’ve invested In a jrok and adapter ,I’ve the adapter to use a switcher too
But that won’t be happening
Should I put it In cab or keep the original going .

… on the jrok Vs original debate. My Defender has got bad battery damage. So leaving original boards intact but just purchased a jrok to install and play…… does that make me a bad person?

I agree with Chad - keep it original

But if you do decide to use the JROK board, use it with a switcher and not the linear PSU

Cheers mate I appreciate the advice .good job you said that too about using a switcher .incase I was tempted to try the jrok in it for stargate

I wouldn’t say it makes you a bad person
I played the jrok on a Jamma cab and its class
Shame about the battery damage .is it not repairable for some time in the future ?

whether it can be repaired is debatable but ideally I’d like to keep it original if I can.
Also good tip about the power supply and jrok, didn’t know that.

Just to clarify what I meant, you can use a JROK with the original linear supply, but my suggestion is to use a switcher instead because of the protection built into a switcher.

If you're not using the original boardset, there's no point using the original power supply...might as well stick in an LCD and be done with it

On that comment it’s staying as it is lol
Cpo had been changed before and marquee cracked or they wouldn’t of been replaced
Someone has scraped Spurs into the side of it ,which sort of goes with the time period of the last time they won anything .so it can stay too
