Defender owners

Hi, I have just been playing my upright defender and a bizar thing happened on level 2!!
I was shooting like mad and then the landscape at the bottom dissapeared and the screen went mental with loads of aliens all chassing me!!!
I have never had this happen before, it went mad.

As soon as I lost my life it went back to normal.

Is this a secret bonus level or something?

Sounds like you went into (what I call) 'Hyperspace'

Did all your humans get blasted or picked up by Landers ? as this is what happens when all humans have been destroyed and you get sh*tloads of 'Mutants' attacking you (i'm sure you should no this ?)

The only thing that baffles me is when you say it returned to normal when you lost 1 life ?

I have had the game about 3 months and have only played for about 1 hour I total.
The pcbs keep breaking. In fact I played 2 games 1 week ok fine, out it on tonight and another rom board has died.
I only remember playing it as a kid so have been desperate to get a cab but it has been he most unreliable thing I have owned.
I will play some more tomorrow night and see if it ideas it again.

Is this a joke? This happens when all the humans are captured/destroyed. I suck badly at defender and so have seen this many times.

This does seem right.
I will let them all get captured and see what happens.
I usually die before they all get captured so it was a new thing for me.

There's a quicker way. Just fly along the ground and shoot all the humans.

you have to question your skills when you have never seen the thing that happens when you are rubbish at a game because you are so bad you didn't even get that far before...

Could be that Steve is just awesome at the game, he's never got to the point where all his humans have become mutants/died cos he's always "Defended" them successfully

The extra lives last 10,000 points before clocking the game has already been said,also I could play all day on 1 credit
