The 80’s Retro Arcade weekend is back again in Derby after the success of last years event thanks to James Brindley!
Can’t wait to pop back to my home town to have another blast on my favourite cabinets.
Friday September 20th to Monday 23rd.

Hope to see as many of you there as possible!

Stuff like this is fine and well, but the entire Midlands area is really lacking in good arcades! There's decent ones up north and down south, but none round here. There have been attempts, but all of them are crap and not really ran by people who care about games that much :(Tedward2019-08-07 01:19:53

We've increased to 40 cabs this year including some cool shooters and a few cockpits

I have quite a few arcade trips planned already, but this sounds like it'll be a great event for the museum and the midlands. I hope its successful as last years.

Where about are the decent down south arcades?

From where I'm sat, the South's already got more than its fair share of great arcades. There's Arcade Clubs in Manchester and Leeds for goodness' sake. We need more arcades in the North ;-)

Did anyone make it to this event?

I had planned to go with young daughter, and the preview on BBC local news on Friday made us eager for Sunday

Sadly my daughter was ill all weekend and so we had to give it a miss until next year

Would be nice to see some photos and comments of anyones experiences of this weekend

Brilliant video, thanks for posting.

Hopefuly no family illnesses next year and we can make it. At least your vid showed us what we missed - a great number and variety of machines.

Big respect to those that organised it and loaned out their cabs for the public to enjoy

I think it was James Brindley’s RetroGamesParty that supplied the cabinets as he was there this year and last year.
I have also received an email from derby Museums asking for feedback and it mentions that they will definitely be making it a yearly event from now on!
Really pleased to hear it as Derby is only 15 mins away from me.
