Right now I've plugged in my rgb invertor adapter board so I can see the correct colours, some how the tile graphics have gone worse?most likely a flacky logic chip somewhere.

Still no sign of any sprites, looked into the video pcb schematic close to the sprite rams and scoped the address signals to the rams and found a floating signal traced this back to a ls157 at location 3m,output pin 12 was floating, replaced this and bingo Mario is back and all sprites restored
.
now lastly the problem with tile graphics which are not displaying correctly, looking in the sprite video ram circuit I found another ls157 with a output stuck low at location 4m,pin 7 stuck low.
Got lucky and all tiles were displayed in the correct order.

Donkey kong has been resurrected and we now have a working boardset, ran the board for 3 hours with no issues, finished of the board set with new pcb spacers.
