Hi Guys,

I thought i'd better share this with you.

This cab arrived in November last year, taking a quick trip across the English Channel from Germany. The cab was purchased as a non-worker, missing it's pcb, the main loom and the monitor was faulty, a tatty weird bezel, rough willis control panel but overall a nice solid cab just in need of some TLC.

Time to take a look at the monitor....

I had a picture! Great result so far although with adjustment this was not going to sync......or close!

Anyhow, discharged it and stripped the mounting cage. This was the dirtiest monitor i'd ever come across

Nothing like seeing a couple of dks next to each other.

Great work on the monitor there, very interesting stuff. I'd love to see this happen in person one day, im lacking monitor and pcb repair skills. A southern tech meet would be great.

Cracking picture on that tube as well

'Soap & suds' redundant for the next one Jon

Will be using ' muck off ' in future

Don't tell Tony! He will be more than upset, he uses so many bubbles he could wash his hair in it!

Nice work, you had a lot of luck there having the original EZ still in the cab PLUS no screen burn!
Nice to see someone else replacing the main filter cap when restoring monitors (I got slated last week for doing it) :)

Very nice!
I do love restoration pics! Good pictures all the way through too which is something I usually forget to do, or 10 of exactly the same thing and important stuff missed!

I know where my Euro Lotto money is going now, your cabs!

that is a great and detailed thread, i wish i had the know how to do it myself.

what bits get the soap n suds treatment? is it just casings and non electrical stuff? only asking because of the wires in the bucket.

regards, R.

Virtually everything gets washed off other than the power supply but these normally get blown out with a compressor/gun and rebuilt. The wires you can see is the wiring loom in the sink.

Good work dude!

I'm guessing that was the LOPT that I originally ordered incorrectly? Glad to see it finding a home in a cab that'll be brilliant when finished!

Hey Paul, yeah this is indeed that LOPT! Cheers mate, got anymore?

This project will continue shortly, life has got in the way momentarily!

Cheers,

Al
