A customer mailed me if I could repair his crt screen. Normally its a lost case but he insisted on bringing the cabinet so I could have a look. Well if there was no effort involved for me then sure.

The complaint was that the image was unsharp and not bright enough.

remove some screws to get access to the monitor surface, 5 squirts of windex and some paper towel.

Fixed it.

lol, I've had similar in the past. Someone had an icon on the screen and when they clicked on it it just wouldn't go away. turned up it was some dirt on the monitor got a tissue and wiped it off..... same guy spent two hours trying to get his scanner working, turned up walked over to the mains socket and turned it on.sorted lol

Used to get that at work. Customer fault description: the tv is really dark. After about 10 years of dirt/nicotine cleaned off the tube the picture is perfect, tramps

Yup, had this a few times now with customers complaining about their CCTV images being poor. 1st job - clean the monitor screen. Oh wow, that's better! What did you do? Same with the camera lenses.

My easiest has to be a Mac Mini I bought from a business that closed down. I bought it for £30 as it wouldn't even turn on.

To Fix:

1) Open plug

2) Insert fuse

3) Close plug

Fully working!

Cool! Same story with my Sega Gremlin Moon Cresta. Bought off eBay as a non-worker in fantastic condition for about 100 quid. Replaced fuse in step down transformer, fixed! Not missed a beat since.
