Just sold something on Ebay and could not get my usual service from Royal Mail as I always do , You are now forced to use Envri and have to drop stuff off , Really ??? Have no idea how much it even is.

Am I missing something ?

Dave.

Most worrying thing about eBay is a buyer can just open a return and say he/she don't like the item and you are screwed.. either you let them have the item, or you pay for the return - which if in the UK isn't so bad, but when it's say in South Korea, it's a f**king nightmare.

I added Royal Mail using the same method.

But when the item sold it created a label that only allows me to drop it off at the post office, no collection was offered which his a major pain for a bulky item, not to mention the time spent queuing.

As I understand Ebay are now supposed to be 'guaranteeing' your deliver provided you use the approved postage method. However until something gets lost in the post it will be hard to know if that the case or if they simply refund the buyer and let you deal with it.

The global shipping programm, I have found to be very good as a once it's at there depo it's out of your hands so if you do get a return from South Korea I think you may be okay, although unsure who would pay for it.

I look at Hifi and car stuff and shows things from Japan and it says Free Returns, who's paying it though

'if you do get a return from South Korea I think you may be okay, although unsure who would pay for it.'

Your item is generally refunded, then sold on to some company that will use your pictures and your description to resell the item, generally at a higher price and without your knowledge.

Seriously, if you ever have anything 'lost' with the GSP, search for your exact title or pictures a month or two later. The company will ignore all your messages.

I find it almost a 'con' when I find out a seller uses Evri most times.

I think that many sellers are (unlike with 'bricks&mortar' style involvements) unaware of buyer experience of the firm. Which is a shame, as it means that the rebrand of the Hermes mark that literally had stand-ups doing the odd bit about it (or throwaway line) has absolutely worked.

Hang on .....

1745349836256.png

So that says ' Buyer selected postage service ' , So has the buyer selected ?? What the hell has it got to do with them what service us , as a seller , uses ?? What next they can select how much they can pay us without an option ??

Just to piss me off more I just agreed £80 + £5.99 shipping with a seller , He sent me an offer so accepted , went through to the payment and it was nearly £92 !!!! Ebay are started to proper give me an itch. I can see them lasting at this rate. Time for a new rivel to jump in ??

So then i sold an item for £50 and they took there seller fee off that , So who are they taking fees from ?? Me twice by the looks of it. Whats the f*****g point.

OMG they have charged me vat on top of delivery as well !

Angry !

Dave.

1st thought is Don't use shitty Data Collection Tracking Apps to do ebay on, that's why they keep pushing you to use it with pathetic £5 off or something to switch to it, I only use PC on Website till they stop that at some point probably

Check all settings and check your listings are how you want them

When are people going to learn that Technology is a crock of shite and it's going to make your life a nightmare in time

eBay refund the buyer and you keep your money, they take the loss and then resell any items in auctions, so yeah GSP is good :D

I was going to post in the other ebay moan thread about this recently.

For years I've only used Royal Mail. At the beginning of the month I was caught out by an unwanted Evri label. 'Well, it's a one-off after all these years, how bad can it be?'

Surprise surprise it took 12 days after bouncing around in tracking limbo.

Evri time

Meanwhile some RM parcels sent at the same time were delivered the next day with simple non-eventful tracking.

I guess when buying on ebay you can slip into tight mode and select the £1 cheaper option. I messaged the buyer with apologies and a polite implication that it's his own bloody fault.

So that says ' Buyer selected postage service ' , So has the buyer selected ??
That's what I was thinking. I notice a seller can choose a "preference", but I want to choose an absolutely definitely one and only singular solitary service.

I've been continuing to use Custom Postage when listing, haven't been forced to Simple yet. I tend to buy RM postage direct - collections are quicker and they bring labels with them. Only time I'll use eBay for buying postage is if I need to get the package out quickly - use the QR code and drop it at the Post Office.
