Same here, just listed some stuff on a £1 weekend and I am not signed up to the new payment system yet. If they ditch the £1 offers I will be done with selling on there, I am not willing to put up with all the BS you have to put up with otherwise.

Well, it took 3 days for my payment to actually show up in my bank account. Not too bad, but there's no excuse for it not being virtually instantaneous, like other electronic transfers. Stinks of a scam for ebay to make even more money from the £millions of other peoples money sitting in their account for several days. Now it's basically like being paid by cheque, and having to wait days for it to clear.

...and that’s one of the major drawbacks to this new payment system, waiting to get your money. The advantage of PayPal was the instant payment which you could either recycle the funds to buy something else or withdraw the money to your bank which in my case would be in my account within minutes.

Just had my final warning reminder!! Seems if you don't you won't be getting any more deals off them.

Update your payment details by 30 April 2021, or you could lose your ability to create and edit listings*

If you do not update your details, you won't be able to create and edit listings. You may also lose your eligibility for future selling fee promotions.

It was. But not any more I don't think.

You can still pay for things on ebay using PayPal. You just can't receive funds into your PayPal account through selling on it any more. (Or won't be able to soon).

if you sell something under the new system and ebay send you the buyer has paid email, but you specified a 2 day dispatch time on your listing and stick to this, you will actually be sending the item to the buyer before their payment is even in your bank account

eBay and Paypal were forced to split up some time ago. I've sold a few things now using the new system and you do have to send off the items before you get your money. Payments to my bank account do seem to be getting a bit quicker now though, than they were at first.

£1 weekends seem to be coming thick and fast now I'm on managed payments. Every other week, it seems to be. Got another this weekend.

I had a message from them saying I would not get any promotions if I did not sign up, last night I was sent 80% off selling fees if you sign up message, as it was the deadline I had to sign up, but seriously doubt I'll be selling on there anymore.

I've sold loads of things on there since I signed up to it. But every single one was on a £1 promotion. Imo it's better now, as long as you wait for the promotions to come up...... as you don't lose anything in Paypal fees.

Yeah, I got the 80% thing which said was only offered to people on managed payments. Wonder if this is going to replace the max £1 thing from now on?

Also had that invite and had until the 31st May to sign up for not be allowed to sell/receive promo's etc.. So bit the bullet and signed up, took up the 80% offer and I'll see how it goes.
The major downside is the payments processed to a bank account are working days only and take two days or so.

So, I'll have to add a disclaimer to my listings now stating that nothing will be posted until payment is in my bank, blame ebay(!) Adding two or three days until anything will be posted.

As suspected - "you could" means if you don't you can't....

You can no longer create or edit listings on eBay

You have missed the
opportunity to update your account details and your ability to create new
listings has now been disabled. Also, you may no longer be eligible to
receive future selling fee promotions. In order to continue selling with
eBay, please update your account details today.

To re-enable your
listing capabilities, you must update your account details.

Just received my first payment since being on the new system. Sold an item and was paid for on the 4th, and just had a message to say payment, from eBay, has been sent. Checked my bank and it's there.
So two working days as promised.

I had changed my dispatch time to three days now to cover myself.

I had to do a refund to a random buyer who changed their mind, under the new managed payments system.

There is a 30p standard charge they add to any sale - just letting you guys know this appears not to be refundable.

So I've had 30p taken from my credit card, for doing a straight refund to the buyer of what they paid me.

Lovely.

Looks like ebay are now forcing everyone into VAT on overseas sales and also enlisting you onto the Global Shipping Program and trying to force you to do all your postage purchasing via them too.

From 1 July, and in line with new legislation, eBay will collect VAT on all goods which are sold through eBay and shipped to buyers in the European Union (EU) with a consignment value up to EUR150. eBay will collect VAT on all sales to private individuals, regardless of seller status. eBay will declare the VAT collected under our Import One Stop Shop (IOSS) number.

As EU customs need to identify if VAT has already been paid for EU imports, eBay’s IOSS number needs to be shared electronically with carriers. In cases where eBay has collected VAT and the goods are shipped from the UK, you are responsible for sharing eBay’s IOSS number with your carrier. Failure to share eBay’s IOSS will lead to buyers paying VAT again on delivery. Note that the Post Office systems do not accept a manually provided IOSS number.

If you continue sending parcels through the Post Office without pre-purchasing labels through Click & Drop or the other alternatives set out below, your buyers may have to pay VAT again on delivery.

To simplify the process, we will enrol you into the Global Shipping Programme (GSP) by 1 July. You will receive an email once we have successfully opted you in with further details and a link to opt-out should you wish to do so. GSP will ensure that the IOSS is correctly transmitted and that all customs charges/processes/international delivery is taken care of. All you have to do after a sale transaction is post your parcel to the UK Shipping Centre. Learn more here.

If you wish to continue to post packages to Europe yourself using the Royal Mail or an express carrier service, the alternative postage methods available to you, where you can electronically declare eBay IOSS to your carrier are:

  • eBay labels Packlink. Read more here.

  • Royal Mail Click & Drop account linked to eBay account. Labels can be dropped off at the Post Office once printed. Read more here.

  • Buy postage online with a carrier (Hermes/Parcel2Go/DPD/UPS) and electronically declare eBay’s IOSS number.
