Ebay is dead anyway. Nothing selling, regardless of how cheap it is.

I was looking into an etsy account, but they want a £22 set up fee! Why should I pay a £22 set up fee, when I'm the one setting it up!
Ebay, Paypal just more of them in the Big Club of control, only have to look at Paypal Co Founder Peter Thiel and his Palantir Technologies

Tesco has ditched cash at 40 of its cafes with customers forced to pay by card at self-service machines. The supermarket giant says the overhaul has boosted the customer experience and the changes have been well-received, but critics said it was “bonkers” and risked alienating elderly customers
Yes, we are not being paid to scan our own shopping! It's the removing of the social interaction I hate. Everyone miserable and ignoring each other, but some people seem to enjoy it!

At least I enjoy your posts!

eBay is exactly as you said, it's Watchbay

mate at work asked me the other week if I'd sold much on ebay I said hardly anything, his mate sells quite a bit before and wasn't selling much either. summer always bad time to sell anyway with holidays

I think one of the biggest problems on ebay now is unless you are one of the Business sellers that get promoted to the top of the list when the ebay crAPP defaults to best match you don't even get a look in, you can offer the items cheaper than business sellers but no one seems to even see yours, most listings don't get a view let alone watchers, it's more catered for new junk items from business sellers than what it was supposed to be, market place for 2nd hand items and with millions of repeat listings who can be bothered to trawl through it all now to find a bargain and that's all people want now, something for nothing

Hopefully it will pickup a bit now holidays over, depending on what LIEbour do next of course

i've sold absolutely shedloads of stuff on ebay over the past 12 months, so maybe you are just trying to sell shite nobody wants anymore

people moaning about ebay, jesus, just don't use it then, use another platform instead, nobody is forcing anyone to use it, so i don't see where the complaints are coming from, just miserable people wanting to moan about something

its the usual crowd as well complaining

I’ve sold a tonne of old shite on eBay this year and have been surprised at what some of the stuff I would have chucked out has fetched.

I just use 70% off fees weekends and stack up the listings. Everything has sold apart from a set of car snow socks!

I’ve sold a few hundred things and not one complaint…

You must be selling £1 items!

I had a boxed mega drive 2 with 2 controllers, fully working and serviced, with a game. Got 2 views in 3 months! Selling for £25

I've got 10 pairs of NOS Boxed Adidas trainers. I cant even give them away! No views in months.

Star wars items not selling.

Ebay is flooded with millions of people selling the same stuff.

I've actually had better luck on marketplace. Sold a orange guitar speaker cabinet in 2 days.

It's as bods said, items are getting no views at all. I have send out a hundred offers halving the price in some cases, and not a single sale from any of them Ebay is just full of bottom feeder watchers.

All my SW stuff sold. Maybe 80 items? I just started auctions at below average selling price and they all got hooks. Maybe BIN isn’t the way to go now?

To be honest I frequently see auction prices go substantially higher than identical items listed BIN. But then there are a lot of idiots around and I suspect this may be a consequence of using sniping software.

ive had one or two absolute bargains on stuff in the past 18 months with decent collections of games, people probably expecting a big sniper bid to come, i just stick the amount i want it for and if i lose, i lose. Got a decent collection of games for 69 quid, i needed 2 of them, sold the rest for the amount above and still have 2 left to get rid of

Ebay selling has slowed down a lot. I was averaging 6 items per month when I was selling. Back in the day, I was selling 1 to 3 items a day.

All good items, no shite, cheaper than everyone else. Tons of watchers, not many buyers. I reached my 29 items this year and leaving the rest of the stuff for next year.

More watchers than buyers these days.

I haven't tried selling anything in a while, but I always found that putting in the effort to clean items and take good photos with a detailed, honest description helps a lot. Pretty much sold everything I've ever listed, pretty quickly. Struggling to think of something that didn't sell.

I agreed a price with the seller of my 928 over eBay, then I got it taken to a garage for a checkup, and consequently paid him by bank transfer. He just removed the eBay ad in the end. 😅
Private adds for vehicles and then they get scammed out of 1000's of pounds. They know what is going on but they dont give a shit.

Exactly what I see and have done since I started buying on ebay, but at the same time I've seen items end for naff all when they get one bid so it's a risk which is fine if you were going to bin it or got it for peanuts

You would think presenting something well with good photo's would get you more sales even if not increased price but again from early 2000's I've seen 2 items the same on at the same time and every man and his dog is bidding on the filthy once with rubbish description, 1 poor photo and the guy with really nice one with great clear photos, hardly any bids and ends either not sold or half the price, I forget what the item was once but I even messaged them and said what's wrong with people, why they all bidding on that other one in crap condition and he was as baffled as me

I've just sold 1 item at £50 which is good, cost me nowt.

I'm not complaining, just noticed a huge difference in eBay in recent years, just nothing like it used to be with so much Tat listed, I must admit I need to put new stuff on, just can't be bothered half the time now, used to list stuff every other day years back but no incentive much now, Things I wouldn't have minded priced out of reach of me bothering now and I don't owe anything so don't have work my arse off anymore, the only incentive I have is to get rid of all the stuff so I can have some space back

Probably should try selling just the box like this, show the console in it and put it's not included :ROFLMAO:

All you lot moaning about not selling listen up
Don't use a phone to do your adverts
Take time and write a proper description
Use buy it now only
Enable international sales
If an item is too cheap people will think there's a problem with it
Do proper photos
Include free FIRST CLASS TRACKED delivery, dont be a miser, people want the shit they've bought ASAP and in one piece

You will notice a difference trust me.

I found Ebay is quite slow at the moment, however BIN items do sell after a few months of being listed. Usually with the buyers making an offer of about %10 off. The only issue with that is that any final value selling fee discounts tend to have expired.

Yes international sales are the way to go, massively increases your chance of selling.

I've never used anything other than a phone to create adverts. The phone camera is better than most stand alone digital cameras. Never had a problem selling (unless an item is shit and people just don't want it) Never offered free postage either because it isn't.

I've found free postage helps on higher value items, just add the postage cost to the item.
I guess it's something less to worry about for the buyer, although I never quite understood it! maybe it helps 'the search algorithm':)
