The other thing that was bugging me was how was the PCB fitted from Electrocoin, nothing fitted as it was before, it had the standard Plastic PCB Holder they fit in jamma cabs and has the marks where it's been when removed, suppose it could have been fitted in later years if cab was converted to different game, there are two different size PCB Holders and one is big enough to fit this pcb in just, but then it makes it very difficult with wiring getting caught, it's in way to release control panel latches, then I found when these new feet fitted on PCB there was a hole in each corner that perfectly aligned with the board so does seem it was how it was originally fitted so mystery over really

Another job I want to do is add switches for test mode, I would have thought there would be something similar to Streetfighter with rocker switch and button, original cab has slam button in manual, it's on coin door when you close it I think

I has the wires that come off where the volume control is, so I'll make something up to allow switching into test mode also, manual says slide switch, I'll use rocker type and credit button is the other I think but I'll check wiring to pins on pcb again

Something else you find is Different between Goliath and Centi is the wood the Control Panel fixes too, it's slightly longer on Goliath so they don't fit in Centi, the spare I have is from Goliath Streetfighter and its about an inch longer, was going to use this in the other Centi but will have to repair what came from other rampage cab

Should be flush with front of cab or just behind a little

P1090245.JPG

This is annoying too, It was same on both Streetfighter cabs I had, Goliath and Centi, they have usual 2 connectors for Control Panel but like Rampage it's got extra for the 6 buttons over standard Jamma so they didn't bother to fit a 3rd connector and hard wired it in so you can't remove the control panel like normal

I've cut the wires, will do same on the Streetfighter cab as well and add 3rd connector
You can see the service switch and button if bottom left also they had

Thought I'd remove Joystick 3 (Ralph's) next to see why it's sticking, also had a look through my box of joysticks see if I had any the same incase it needed replacing and found I had one same coin controls stick, only issue it's bent like a banana and won't look right if fitted, it moved okay and wasn't loose like the original so I can at least use parts from it

So I took apart Jotstick 3 and found some plonker had fitted a spring inside where it's not needed, wrapped insulation tape around the switch actuator plastic which was cause of it sticking and not working well, the plastic that pushes into rubber donut was more worn than the other causing more wobble in the stick so I'll swap rubber and all plastics over, peeled all the tape off and the plastic was fine, nothing broken so no idea why they put that on.

Really like these red joysticks often found on electrocoins. I was actually looking through a box of spares today and found a pair so thought I will fit these on my refurbed xenon panel.
Good cleaning and refurb tips ! Will be following :)

When I got the cab I got Olly to do this as I was thinking it would look nice with Monitor artwork, it's high up in original cab so difficult to move position, I was thinking of moving monitor up higher with new wood cut out, if I did decide to add the artwork it would be much better printed onto Perspex, maybe loose the instructions part and move it back down where it should be as original Marquee has instructions, it's such nice artwork I don't know why Electrocoin didn't add it themself as it would really finish the cab off, at same time I do like things original so still wondering what to do, which ever it would be easy to change back to original so altered artwork to fit would be best even if you had to cut into the buildings at the bottom like the Arcade 1up are

For now I put the Original Glass in as per Flyer after I hunted round for it yesterday. Typical after I put it all back together with glass in, switch on and the Red decides to stop working on the monitor  oh fun and games, so had a look at that today, don't have anywhere to test it on bench powered on so just did some basic component testing, checked tube base first as I was expecting bad joints or something but all good, checked transistors/Resistors all seem fine, found cap I'd replaced that goes to Sync switch had broken track again, someone damaged track previously and I'd scrapped coating off and soldered further back but had broke again so used some wire to link it.

Onto main chassis then for colour missing and follow red to resistors, all good, then transistors TR8 and wasn't reading same as others for R or B so take it out and sure enough open circuit from base to Collector or Emitter, BC 548B, the copy scrap chassis had BC547B so fitted that and Red working again, first time I've had any components like that gone on the MTC 9000

So apart from odd bits of metal that need repainting at some point and some locks in the coin doors it's done and another cab working. Nice to see it finally in it's original Cabinet, just need that original Marquee now ;)

Looks fantastic! Congrats !
Now for the playing !
Cheers mate, If only this side extension was finished inside I could start rowing them up as I get them restored and working like I started doing in the other building till filled it, never got this part of house done before filling it, need to have another move around and tidy up now, not much time for playing currently lol, also need some others to play it with really to be fun

Got so many cabs to sort, Popeye, Millipede, Turbo Outrun, Twin Mame Driving machine for starters

Would love a 3 player panel on one of my electrocoins. Looks similar to the one on my UK moonwalker cabinet ?
Yeah be cool, I like the shape of them. Who build the Moonwalker cabs?

That's the speakers in my other 2 Jamma Centi cabs, only one ever fitted but put bigger altai in for some reason, think the Chase HQ has same speaker as that's only got one also

These brackets are for control panel, you screw that to the wood instead which has slight gap and then CP hinge slides through instead of unscrewing the CP

Some cabs I've bought had them some didn't, can tell from holes in wood if they ever had them, quite handy if you have a few different ones to swap, specially with the cool marquee hinge Xenon have

Actually think the profile and size is bigger on moonwalker? - I think UK was perhaps Deith built under license ? This is mine but mothballed it 6 years ago. May get it out next year but too many projects and need space to complete.

Cool :) Yeah I was thinking Deith cabs. did they use the same cab for other games, just looking at the design of cab sides where Control Panel is, it's left cut out so you could fit a wider 4 player one maybe? unless they thought having wood continuing there could easily get damaged

How’s the Rampage going ? Have you had a 3
Player session on it yet?
Brought some electrocoin flyers the other day and there was a rampage promotion on one - same as yours!

Is that Flyer one with the 3 cab versions?
