Seriously, I'm getting tired of this. Naturally, it can't load anything anymore, sounds like the heads are totally misaligned. Not surprising given they've hit it so hard the frame is slightly bent.

I should add, they also managed to destroy a 14" Polo a month or so ago. The actual tube got cracked at the front. The strong 1" thick glass bit.

Fackin hell! I wonder if they have a competition to see what they can break. Gotta put some effort in to do that to a 1010!

Not sure why i am about to defend them as my dad no longer works for them, but why does everyone give Hermes such a bad rap.

I have said this before that all of these courier companies are employing contractors to carry out the deliveries to the door and in many cases (as my dad used to do this) many of the contractors worlmfor mutiple delivery companies... so it doesnt matter who go with as it could be the same person. Go and google or youtube bad couriers and you can find examples for all of them... they can all be as bad as each other... bit really it comes down to where you live and whether yoir delivery guy is a complete and utter moron.

Anyway, lets be honest as the courier themself cannot be solely responsible... but the packaging that so many people choose not to use to protect their goods is a joke. If they just putt some effort in then these things would never happen.

Oh and James... the three boards you sent me a few days ago with Hermes all turned up with no problems, So thanks mate. :)

Not belittling any of the horror stories in this thread and others that have been written before, but...........

I can only go from my own experiences and the local courier woman that delivers the My Hermes stuff as well as the mountain of stuff MrsM orders from QVC, Amazon and Next, etc, is absolutely bob on!! Once she realised that we would be regular recipients, she took the time to have a chat, ask us what 'we' wanted her to do, if we were not in, ie; neighbour, safe place, etc and she always does exactly as asked. The parcels are always handled with care, etc.

I do think, sometimes, that some blame needs to lie with the sender, as some of the parcels I have received lately have been 'packed' in nothing more than a thin cover of black plastic!!

That said, that poor guitar, must've took a nasty whack to shear the headstock off. Such a shame, I love guitars!!

I've been a delivery driver for 10 years and I've seen how badly packaged some items are

Not just eBay sellers, some large companies send them out really badly packaged too !

On the other side I've seen how bad they are handled by sorters and other delivery drivers

As rcantor says though it depends on what your local delivery person is like, some of them don't give two sh*ts as long as it's delivered but not all of us delivery folk are like that and do care about getting the parcel delivered properly :)
