Same question as the Arcade Machine you found years after it was released but hadn't heard of, thought it might be interesting to do same for Movies

Be nice to see if there are some really good old films that I haven't seen but are really good

Whats's your Favourite Movie you didn't know anything about till years after it was out

Video Recorders, that was a pretty cool time when they were affordable, you could watch movies at home and not have to wait the 4 years? till released on TV.

When I picked up a Hi-Fi Stereo VCR from work, that really got me watching movies again, the upgrade from Standard Audio on VHS to H-Fi Stereo blew me away at the time, watching Predator the 1st time through Hi-Fi System, when they cut the bodies down you hear it the right speaker, The Music and Sound was amazing at the time, it was pretty close to CD Quality due to the tape to head spead, it was as big back then just like watching something in 5.1 for 1st time.

Always remember my brother and neighbour rented a movie about a Gangs and only bit I remember was when they have rocks tied to his N*#ts on a bridge or something and it Started with a W

I was downloading lots of Divx movies in 2000 and got cheap projector so wanted more stuff to watch, so thought I'd look for this old movie he rented, So I find this movie The Warriors, Ah that's it I think

One night I decide to watch it, I realise it's not the film I was thinking of at all after it starts, turns out the one I was after was The Wanderers, reading a bit about them few months back when I picked up the Wanderers DVD from Charity Shop, think I read it was a race to get these 2 films out, they were both same year 1979 but Warriors was first in Cinema

Soon as the Warriors started I thought this looks good, the characters are brilliant, always like movies with some good songs in them, It's now one of my All Time Favourite Movies, can't believe it took me 20+ years to find out about it and watch it, can imagine the impact it must of had when it was released.

Another thing I have just realised only a few months ago, listening to my old tapes I recorded from Satellite Radio Station Club Music, Song on their Called MC Wildski - Warrior I've listened to this for years, from the year I recorded it in 1990 and then got all the songs from my tapes on MP3, CD, Vinyl to remake the 16 tapes, it's not till you watch the movies again the other month, then just happen to play this track while driving and was listening properly, I finally realise he based the track on the movie, must of as he has even used a sample from it "Who Are The Warriors" along with samples fromTears for Fears and others, crazy how long it takes you to realise these things

The Warriors

A real Classic

Difficult - it’s really movies that either slipped me by in recent years or from the early 80’s and earlier, when I wasn’t aware.

Once upon a Time in America.

Difficult though - a pile more movies that I missed first time and you don’t hear about so much:
Snowpiercer
The Raid
Scanners
Brainstorm
Silent Running
The Long Good Friday

48 hours
Once upon a time in the West

The Long Good Friday

Well worth waiting for.... IMO the best gangster movie ever made.

A mate at work is a real Cowboy fan. Loves John Wayne. He thought he'd seen every big (classic) western ever made. I lent him my Mackenna's Gold DVD as he'd never heard of it. He loved it.
