Hi,

I have a Killer Instinct 2 control deck that was converted to a Turkey Hunter which I am converting back.

When it was converted they drilled out a hole in the metal overlay on the control deck. I want to repair this and have found the following product:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Evo-Stik-320123-Metal-Epoxy-Putty/dp/B00361819W?th=1

Would this do the job? Has anyone used anything else?

Thanks

Peter

I've used metal epoxy before to do this. I filed down the top-side edges of the hole (to give filler a better key) then glued a small metal plate to the underside. Then filled the hole with P38. Tip: scratch up the bonding surfaces and put a bead of glue all around the plate edges. At first, I had the bonding surfaces sanded smooth, but the plate fell of when I dropped the CP onto my workbench.

I have used the above method before to, Only difference was I welded a plate underneath instead of glued then filled with P38 and sanded.

Hi John that would be amazing if you could do that! I would obviously pay you to do the work. I might leave it until after the lockdown is over(hopefully not too far away). I don’t suppose you can make Plexi overlays for control decks too or know anyone / a company that does?

I've just finished rebuilding an MK2 control panel with the clear plastic on it. Bought it from this seller on ebay : https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/cleardisplays

Gave them the exact dimensions (to the nearest mm) and they cut it to that size.

I drilled the holes myself. It wasn't too difficult, but I did some prior research and used a set of stepper drill bits. I read that this was the best way to avoid cracking the plastic.
