Great space and looks ideal.

I’ve just recently converted my garage so I’m in a similar position to you; just need to fill it up with cabs

Look brilliant! Just wondering how power is connected in terms of circuit protection and lighting circuit separation.
Also will you have to keep the heating on at a certain temperature during the winter?

6mm armoured core running to it into the RCD in the top right corner, sockets and lights on separate fuses and also protected with a MCB in the house

Looks incredible. I've been wanting one for ages and this is inspiring. Spare cash is always the problem though.

what are the dimensions and would you mind sharing the cost? Did you hire people to do part/all of the work?

Can you add me to the PM list? ;) Interested in what size that is, your budget, who did you use, what was the base prep etc.. and all the same questions as everyone else :p

So i'll reply in here instead.

From the start, its a 18ft x13ft summer house that externally is composite. It has a wooden frame and is waterproofed with membrane.

The electrics, it has a 6mm armoured core going from my home to the RCD you can see in the top right corner, i opted for kingspan membrane for inside the walls and paid for an extra 5 sockets(total 7 double sockets) and 4 spots in the cieling.

I have a UPVC double glazed double door and window.

I paid for the thicker flooring so i t adds more stability and the joists underneath are all battened at 1 foot apart to give it extra strength.

The base, my garden was all levelled and porcelain flagged a couple of years ago so no work required there.

I would say in total including the upgrades and the electrician hooking it up to my house its cost around 17k.

That size is awesome.

Just to clarify, that was all built for you in the price? If so, do they give any guarantee like a period of fixing issues?

I'm just finalising details with my builder for a complete renovation of games room and connected utility room. Looking at about £80k. 😲 That's top spec everything though, so may have cheap out on a few things. 😆

yes mate, if you live within 150 miles they deliver and build, took them about 2 days

it was a custom build as well, so you can adjust the size and have as many windows/doors as you like, the sockets can also go wherever you want them

17K is pretty good for that size of a room. It sounds like a lot....and it is. But you are basically getting a large bedroom for under 20k. Getting that as an extenstion on the house would cost more than double. I have gone down the log cabin route in the past and they are really nice rooms. I had air-con in mine at it was nicer to be in there than the house during the summer.

A friend made one cheaper and did a lot of the work himself which sounds good but he later discovered water pooling underneath and had to pull up the floor to fix. Bet that nullified the saving.

I think he was a bit unlucky with the base settling but it shows the value of paying the extra for professionals.
