Framing arcade posters

So I recently picked up a japanese arcade poster, which educated guess would have been about B1 size.
While in TheRange they had a large frame for £16.99 and with a google search for B1 sizes it said that it was 70x100. So I got the frame.



My mistake was taking what google said and not what a tape measure would say if I had measured the poster.

Upon returning home the poster is actually 73x103cm. Again returning to google it seems there is a variation on what is B1 sizing for frames
Example: Wonderwall Large Snap Poster Frame B1 (100 x 70cm)

So question is that a "B1 frame" will definitely not fit my poster... so I have to go into the "custom" frame (also when word custom is used it can get expensive)...
has anyone got any posters framed at this size 73x103? and if so what company/prices did you use/pay?

I'm really just thinking out loud here, but..... could you not just go for a standard larger frame and then get a custom mount cut, which would be loads cheaper. I've done this before, albeit I cut the mount myself too, just made a little 45 degree woodblock which i fixed a stanley blade too.

I guess if you cannot get a larger standard frame (not looked) then this is fairly irrelevant.

Having also had other items custom framed, you will be looking at £60 upwards, probably more these days, as with everything....

B1 USA: 707x1000mm
B1 JAP: 728 x 1030 mm (JIS B Paper Sizes)

So here is your issue, I don't think you see pre-made frames in JAP sizes in the UK.
And judging by your dimensions: you have a jap poster.

PRICES:
With glass, your probably looking at £100 up to £mortgage
I know you probably don't want to, but the other option is trimming it down.

Framing: all depends on what you want, glass or acrylic? wood or composite? wide/deep frame, or a shallow narrow profile?
All of this massively affects the price.

Like with many pieces of art, the framing can be the most expensive part.

I always use a picture frame shop near where I live, I have half a dozen of these shops within a mile or two. Last ones I had done were about £70 for a B1 which I thought was very reasonable.

Amazon Japan have them for around £15 - £20 but shipping is around £25 when they are in stock
I need 8 or so B2 size frames but shipping is a killer!! might just pick them up myself next time I'm over there

If you're going to get custom ones made I would definitely shop around. I've not had any framed since 2013 but when I did I got quotes from a few 'high street' framing places but ended up going with a local guy with his own 'home' business.

The base price for a B1 framed poster was £41 with standard glass but I paid an extra £23.30 for UV museum glass.

I don't think I would bother with UV glass now as when I moved house I applied UV film to the inside of my windows which helps to protect artwork and also my cabs too.
